I genuinely wonder if Habba is playacting this whole 'worst lawyer in the world' bit to give him a shot at an appeal citing ineffective counsel.
We all know he's hoping to just push jive down the road, expecting that he's going to win re election. That's been his plan from the get-go. So tank this by having Habba play the idiot, then go file the appeal and an injunction against any collections until it's settled, then deal with it after the election when he thinks he'll be the president and can somehow make it all go away.
As far as schemes go, this seems to be about on par with anything else he's tried to pull.

I'd suspect the same thing if Trump didn't have a history of surrounding himself with idiots just like her.
Sane, rational, reasonable people see senility. His base though, they just got told to start a new conspiracy theory.
His base is a Venn diagram of "he hates who I hate so I like him", "I can exploit his grifts for my own grifts," and "I don't care what he says, I just like pissing people off".
Do you know how angry the courts get when people do that? Like genuinely angry if that's true? And, if this is true, Happa couldn't go back to defending parking lots she'd be in so much trouble. Nah, she's just this incompetent and thinks that she's gonna get a sweet DoJ gig once all is said and done. However, because she's lost Trump so much money, she ain't getting crap.

Bad news: even if trump wasn't running, they still wouldn't do anything on immigration reform. They don't want to fix something that always keeps the republican base in thrall, and they don't want to just give biden anything resembling a victory.
Yeah, they figured out twenty years ago that it's a whole lot better to just send Ted Cruz down to the border so ICE can put a flak jacket on him and wheel him out into the middle of the Rio Grande in a paddle boat so he can complain about what an awful job the Democrat party is doing on border security while the Fox News cameras are rolling, than risk possibly doing something about the problem.
That's why I thought Roe v Wade would never be overturned. It was too useful as a perennial wedge issue for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they secretly hate Trump for taking that away from them and handing it to the Democrats.
From what I can tell: they hate trump, but because he has enough of their base permanently enthralled that they can't do anything without him, and not because of his incompetence.
