What, you don't recognize James Bond Jr's iconic red gun?

Crazy. I didn't know Junior ever even used guns!

Finally built the T-Spark Blade Liger. It's a pretty nice little kit. Not as fiddly as Kotobukiya's Highend Model Master series (and also cheaper), but it feels solid.

Comes with big energy effects for the blades, because what's a Blade Liger without blades? Also has the fold-out booster in the back, the radiator fins on the legs open a little, and the shield generators on the head can open up. The chest cannons are static, but that's not what anyone's here for. (Incidentally, it has a 3mm peg hole on the belly for an action base, I was just too lazy to go get one right now.)

Him do a big stretch.

Pretty good articulation. The head is a little restricted because of the giant mane, and the tail is a static part (the base is a ball joint and the fin thing on the tip can swivel, but the main tail is one piece). Might see about finding a wire to replace the tail, but even as is, it's pretty expressive.

I don't have any of the HMM Ligers, so here's the similarly-sized Koenig Wolf instead. The HMM line is 1/72 scale, while T-Spark is 1/100, so the HMMs are noticeably larger. On the other hand, they can be a little frustrating to build (lots of tiny parts that fall out easily, a lot of runner hopping that makes laying out the parts a pain, stability and fragility issues), so it's kind of a trade-off.

Speaking of scale, here's a couple of Master Grade Gundam kits I had nearby that are also 1/100 scale. (I really need to panel line the Vidar one of these days.....)

Overall, I like this thing. I'm kinda considering cancelling my HMM Liger Zero Jaeger order to wait for T-Spark to do it. (They're doing a Blade Liger Panzer, so it's not a far leap to assume they plan to do the Zero with all of its armors too.) Definitely gonna be on the lookout for what they do in the future.

Saw this on Facebook, god-freakin’ GORGEOUS. This is about as mint as you can get for a 35 year old toy. Man, if the universe would just let me win the damned lottery…

Check out that price, though. Discounting the “Kay-Bee mark up”, that would still be among the more expensive toys of the era. The only reason I had the Brontosaurus as a kid was because we came across one on clearance at Toys R Us in 1990. Speaking of…screw the persons that got one of these gems on clearance for $21.99 35 years ago

Curiosity made me pull the trigger on a figure I'd have never bought otherwise.

Jada Toys is dipping their toes into cheaper toys - not that any of their figures were overpriced to begin with - with a tie-in line to the upcoming kids movie GOAT.

I was curious what a $13 Jada figure would be like and honestly I shouldn't even be surprised it's actually really good. It's Jada after all.

Ball jointed head, shoulders and elbows both directions, Ball jointed waist that gives both an ab crunch in both directions and a swivel, thighs and knees in both directions, ankles with a rocker, pivot and rotation, tail on a ball socket and a rocker so it can change directions, soft plastic shorts that bend out of the way for a completely unimpeded leg rotation and solid paint and sculpt for the price.

Jada did NOT need to go this hard for a budget toyline for a movie no one will remember in 6 months.

I'm gonna buy the rest.

Question: Does anyone know if there are any websites that document Playmates' history, like all the different brands they've carried over the years?

In light of the recent news about TMNT, someone was asking me about it earlier, and to my surprise, the amount of info out there is vague and sparse, even on Wikipedia. And their own website just focuses on the current stuff, of course.

Here's what I have found/can remember:

TMNT (basically every iteration up to the present day)
The Simpsons: World of Springfield
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Toxic Crusaders
Dick Tracy
Power Rangers
Voltron
Wild CATs
Darkwing Duck (what a frustrating line that was to be into...)
TaleSpin
Skeleton Warriors
Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad
Exosquad
Jackie Chan Adventures
Monster Rancher
Barnyard Commandos
Earthworm Jim
Godzilla
Monsterverse
Team Mekbots: Animal Rescue
Stuntman Stu
Miraculous Ladybug
Winx Club
Atomic Betty
Ben 10
PikWik Pack
Cricket Dolls
Monster Force
SeaQuest DSV
Amazing Dolls
Amazing Pets
Hearts For Hearts Girls
Kinder-Garden Babies
Nano Pets[4]
R.E.V.s
Waterbabies
WOW Pals
Yo Stick
Struts
Ooglies
Kuroba
Tiny Toes
BFF Best Friends Forever
The Addams Family
Austin Powers Vocalizers

That's more than I'd be able to name, but I don't see Ronin Warriors.

Also they did more Star Trek besides TNG (at least a box set for TOS and a wave or two each for DS9, Voyager, and each of the TNG movies, maybe more than that), and the Exosquad line included a Robotech subline. (Why Playmates' Robotech toys were part of the Exosquad line is less clear.)
