I would say its more the quality of those in charge of the BBC these days, they recently put the show out to tender and among the requirements are a bunch of DEI stuff which is likely to hinder the process A LOT unless they drop it as the BBC is steadily turning into a failed service as they cannot get people to pay the license fee and yet the options being talked about, are completely bonkers, such as taking it from the internet or laptops, ETC... instead of going the root that every other service is taking, adverts! One thing is pretty clear in western entertainment these days, they forgotten how to tell good stories and generally entertain as it all got to fit into a bunch of meaningless check boxes!
