I was behind Animated Wreck-Gar at the stop light today and it was long enough to get a picture! I don't usually do celebrity selfies, I tend to think the people who do are rude, but this is the dashboard of my own Prius Prime that has the Autobot symbol on it, so...

Actually, there were quite a few Transformers in traffic today, I also saw two Dcepticons I was not familiar with but I don't take pictures from a moving vehicle. Great way to STOP moving very quickly in a bad way.

Hey, if you've seen this place, ANYONE who is willing to deal with the garbage collection is a superhero! And besides, being able to turn into a garbage truck when you need one is a lot more useful a power than the weirdo in that other town who flies around in his underwear. Surprised he hasn't wound up getting cited at the very least...

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

So today I took a nice walk up to the local chocolate shop. I went in looking for the small metal tins of either fudge or chocolate fudge. I did not need the snacks (but laura secord chocolate is awesome.) and just wanted the tin in the long run.

Could not get either snack... but they were straight up selling the tins for 2 bucks a pop. So I am happy! Might need to pop in later and buy about 10 for handing out treats at christmas.

I've been on the phone all day dealing with problems that keep turning out not to be problems. It always turns out that everything is fine and some already completed paperwork just needs to be filed somewhere, and things like that.

It's annoying but I'll take the win. It's nice to hear that I don't have to do anything to make a problem go away.

I don't need chicken wings again. I had them last Friday. And the week before. I don't need them, and I don't need to spend the money.

But I want them. It had been years since I had them. My go-to place still doesn't do delivery. But I gave a local bar a try, and it turns out their food is no joke. I can eat this every week.

Update: I regret nothing.

A new coffee shop, Dame Fine Coffee, had a soft opening in our town yesterday, and they were giving free small drinks to anyone who came (they were very busy). Haywire3 was all excited, and wouldn't stop talking about the "Dam Fine Coffee" (Yes, he's 8 years old. Yes, we let him drink coffee, sometimes.) We get up to the window and get our drinks, and he takes a big, satisfied swig of his Chocolate Strawberry Latte, and says, "That is Dam Fine Coffee!"

This morning, he proclaimed to his mother on the way to school that his breakfast was "okay, but it would be better with some Dam Fine Coffee." We've either created a monster, or a comedian.

Additionally, he has suddenly taken an interest in learning Japanese. I dug out my college textbooks (Yookoso), and we started that, but then I remembered I also had some immersive Japanese cassettes, and now he is super-excited to listen to those on his cassette player whenever he can. I'm actually quite impressed with his eagerness to learn, so now I'm wondering what kinds of materials I can find to teach an 8 year old Japanese.

I have always hated coffee. It tastes like death and uses an addictive stimulant. If you came up with it today, they wouldn't let you sell it.
