FINALLY we can end the constant online debate about whether it was Skywarp or Bombshell who became Cyclonus. Since Cyclonus retains his black, purple, and translucent yellow colors, he's obviously.........hey, wait a minute!
What do you mean? The non-conehead Seeker heads aren't really colored after their bodies (although there's merch like the Alt Modes stuff that does that).
i guess we can just SWEEP that comment under the rug
Yeah, but unlike the seekers, both Cyclonus and Scourge's head are/were part of their alt modes in G1. So theorectically their heads would be colored.
Maybe the ears could evoke the sides of the laying-flat cockpit from the toys.
Took me a second, but I figured out where you're coming from. Looking at Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp side-by-side, they have pretty similar head colors, and that's what you did in your pic. It's cool art - and a cool concept (and I couldn't do it) - I just didn't get the "why" until you pointed it out. (This helped.)

I just love the Cyclonus design so much. It looks good in almost anything.

tbg I'm kinda disapointed they changed the head to look more bull-like with the horns rather then keep the terror dog esque look
