the next 3 movies have been announced:
Ballistica
Abraxas, Guardian of the Universe
Battletruck

Of those three my expectations are highest for Battletruck, even if(or maybe because) it gives of VERY strong Warrior of the Lost World vibes.

Wow.
It takes some work to make Abraxas look like the most competent film of a group.
Ballistica especially looks Birdemic level amature.

-ZacWilliam, all of them look appropriately awful.

The only one that concerns me is Ballistica, actually. Reminds me a lot of Atlantic Rim, which was probably the weakest episode in season 12(at least for me). Pretty much everything else they've announced so far looks like it has a LOT of potential.

Backed it for as much s I could afford given the holidays. Which is not a ton.

60% is rocky with this little time left. Hope it makes it.

-ZacWilliam, I love MST3k and want more, this is just a bad time of year for this.

Yea, I tend to agree. I think it's bad timing all around for this campaign(too close to Christmas with people still reeling from the massive inflation last year, starting during the SAG/AFTRA strike, etc). Could still pull off a miracle, but the way it's going now.... REALLY wanted to see the movies announced given the proper MST3K treatment.

Thought I had more time to back this. Visited the link this morning to see it hadn’t reached the $4 mil goal.

Yea. It failed. Part of that I feel is they didn't to a great job of making sure people knew it was happening. The last message from Joel said that they MIGHT have a way to move forward by securing funding from some mysterious partners. It's not Dr Kabahl, but hopefully it's not round 2 with Netflix.

I feel the move off of Kickstarter also hurt getting the message out that this was going on as well. I understand the need to go totally independent but damn...

Ironbite-didn't think it'd hurt this bad.

Radical Entertainment(parent company of Shout!) has fully acquired the rights of MST3K. As much as I love Joel, I think it might be time. He's a great creative, but he tends to make poor business decisions, such as NOT using Kickstarter for season 14. Shout! has been essentially running things since the failed crowdfunding campaign anyway and I'd wager that having to negotiate any plans with Alternaversal(Joel's production company) to move forward with any projects just made doing anything other than streaming old episodes more complicated than it needed to be. If they do start releasing new content, hopefully they stick with the basic format. I like Rifftrax, but I miss the skits in-between sections of the movie(it's part of the special sauce that makes MST3K work for me).

Heck, Id settle for some proper MST3K merch outside of crowdfunding campaigns. I need some shirts and maybe a hoodie. I'd really love an official Tom Servo themed skirt, lol. Can't for the life of me understand why Alternaversal didn't really do any of that outside of licensing the characters for some Funko Pops.

Not sure they're gonna make the goal this year. $20,000 is a hell of a thing to ask people in this day and age.

Ironbite-might as have made the goal like...a million or something.

I'm kinda curious what movies they have in mind, I didn't see any specific titles mentioned for consideration? They probably can't say until they secure the rights, but it would make a difference to me if there are kaiju films in the mix.

Supposed to unveil the first movie on Monday, I believe.

That was one of the movies that was announced for the failed season 14 crowdfunding campaign. I hope that means we get Battle Beyond the Stars too. Was really looking forward to that one.
