If the KO is cheap enough, I can see it. I absolutely love the Legacy Deluxe, but there are significant differences (both design wise and size wise) between it and the literal G1 with knees that is Missing Link.
i believe it's 1:1. In the video link I posted, it seems to be.
Here's a video of the official to compare it to "in hand" as a size reference.

Also trying to make sense of this pre-order matching thing. The way it's worded, it sounds like if it was $100, and you put $50 on pre-order, then it's basically paid for.
The more I think about this, the more I wonder if the endgame plan isn't to KO the Sentinel exclusive, or other colorways not offered by TakaraTomy? Maybe I'm underestimating the demand for ML Prime, but it just seems like there would be a limited audience for a slightly cheaper version. The much-harder-to-get Sentinel, though, might be in higher demand. And then there are decos like Powered Convoy and Ultra Magnus, Shining, BAPE, the inevitable Black/Nemesis version, etc. Plenty of possibilities for the future...
I've never understood the "pre-order" thing either as I'll never pre-order anything unless I know the full price first.
It's more of a Show Z thing. They rarely put up prices until the product arrives. Small sellers on Aliexpress have put up prices at around US $40
It's a common sentiment.
I would be interested in an OSKO of this mold, with it resized to the original G1 toy's dimensions, plus some added dicast metal too. The filled-in space in the back of the robot mode might be enough to make such a toy the "best" version of the G1 toy design perhaps?
I haven't handled the Missing Link version at all, but I do love the Deluxe. Anyone that has a ML can correct me if I'm wrong, but I would imagine that it's a little more fiddly and fragile? Whereas the Legacy Deluxe is a solid toy that feels like a kid (or a 45 year old) could actually play with it.
I'm a little concerned with the KO ML OP. If you look at how they pull-out the legs from the rear of the crotch area, they seem to need to use almost excessive force, which worries me that the toy will break over time. However, it might be that in the first video (Mangmotion's), they didn't move the front wheels away and move the kegs down before attempting this stage of the transformation?
Is this force needed in the original ML OPs transformation in that area?

An updated version of the KO/3P BB OP by Weijiang (supposedly now with ratcheted leg joints).
Knockoff Missing link Optimus is 75 USD at show z and other Chinese platforms, although cheaper, come pretty close after shipping and other fees.

KO Missing Link Prime is on the way to my doorstep! What is great about this is that as the shipping is really cheap, it's significantly cheaper than the original (even living in Japan) and possibly has more diecast parts (so it might have the same amount as the original G1 version)?
ShowZ and TFDirecf have overpriced the upcoming KO Diaclone Battle Convoy to almost the same price as the original RRP?
