I’ve seen some episodes crop up on YouTube, but my feeling is that everyone is laying low for Hasbro legal to calm its tits after the big leak. Might take a bit, but I fully expect the series to crop up and down on YouTube for YEARS.

Good news. I was able to secure copies of all 52 episodes. Yay. Big download, they're a little more than a gig each so the total came out 73 gigs for all 52 episodes. Was lucky I had a TB memory card around that was mostly empty.

So watched Episode 4 at lunch.

Plot:
Karza is tracking down a Micronium signal at a construction site. His powers are growing but he's almost out of energy and needs Micronium badly. Gammatron gets to talk more than he has so far and you get a better sense of his personality as an creepy-evil but Karza-loyal droid.

Meanwhile Phenelope's rushing and recklessness has made a disaster out of the Micronauts attempt to thank Cam by making breakfast. This is the focus ep for her. We'll get tragic backstory and a little character growth. Cameron detects the Micronium so the team splits, with the "action trio" (Acroyear, OB, And Phen) scouting it and the "comic relief trio" (Xant, Biotron and Time Traveler) try (in comedic cut-always) to jog her memory of home.

On the Action team Phen struggles with impatience again and we get flashbacks of Phen when she was a cadet in the Space Glider Academy and her big problem was she was super indecisive and over cautious. She gets letters from her brother at home that their neighborhood is under pressure from gangs supporting Karza. She has a chance to go help them, but can't legally take her wings until she graduates from the Academy so she decides they'll be fine, if she just waits for graduation. But then the messages stop coming and she steals the wings to try and go help (likely why she was being jailed in the first ep). We don't find out what happens exactly but we learn she "lost someone" because she was too cautious and tentative. So it sounds like her brother if not her whole family died because she wasn't there.

Anyway the memories cause her to recklessly attack a human under Karza's thrall rather than wait. She's saved by Cam but Acroyear is angry and sends Cam to take her home. Instead he gives her a pep talk and some advice and takes her back to the construction site. Which is good because Karza's uncovered a buried Micronaut space ship which reminds me of a little Starcom ship if anyone remembers those. The ship is damaged but she manages to drive off Karza and rescue her friends. OB thinks he can fix the ship and recognizes it as part of a bigger micronaut ship. In the end Phen is staring moodily at the stars and OB tells her she did good.

Developments:
1) Phen's backstory.
2) Phen's backstory Supporting Cast: Brother, Friend girl, Cadet who doesn't like her, and Acroyear Headmaster.
3) Very toyetic little ship looks like something they were definitely planing to sell kids.

Gear Combinations:
1) Karza combines his two robots and his flying scooter the to make a bigger flying scooter and escape,
2) Phen combines her wings and part of the little spaceship to make a combination flying scooter/jackhammer and free her friends.

-ZacWilliam, show is being vague enough about "lost someone" that Brother might be dead but he also might show up down the road.

Just curious but by letters from her bro, what medium were they sent in? Text messages? Physical?

If I recall correctly it was via recordings on a little disk that played a Star Wars-y hologram of his upper half. It was specifically in the context of recorded letters from home though not a live message.

-ZacWilliam, I guess Star Wars does that too with Leia's message to Ob-wan.

So I just watched episode 6 and
didn't they just spend episode 5 establishing they had a way to track the energy signatures of the micronium? So how come it didn't detect the stockpile in the garage?

I managed to download the whole series the day of or day after the leak and I've been watching them at work. I have 7 episodes left of season one, and I'm really enjoying it. Unfortunately, it's also making me want toys of everyone/thing in the show!

With episode 5 I've finally got them on a drive I can play on my regular Tv so hopefully I can start moving through these faster now.

Plot:
It's sort of a Xant focus episode but his plot really comes out with much less focus than Cams.

After a fight with Karza over a piece of Micronauts tech on an active Driving range the Micronauts realize they're running out of micronium maybe faster than Karza. Only Xant (whose been avoiding combat) has a good amount left. They detect a big source nearby in the house of Cam's crush Andy.

While those left home try to get by Cam's cat to build a recharge station, Acroyear, Xant and Cam (reluctantly) end up unknowingly crashing her Birthday party to retrieve the power. Xant steps up but fights with brains rather than brawn. Cam's doing well until a fight with a Karza controlled football player makes it look like he's a jerk ruining the cake and pushing the head of the team in the pool. The micronauts get the power source and Cam ends up thrown in the pool but with the gratitude of Acroyear.

Developments:
1) Micronauts get a way to recharge.
2) Cam's supporting cast expanded with: More Andy (she's an inventor geek too and was interested in being friends with him at least up to the point where he ruined her cake and seemed to shove someone in the pool), Head of the football team (not a jerk, just a over enthusiastic "dude"), and Cam's pet cat.
3) Little bit of development for Xant as he learns he can handle "combat" if he does it in a smart way.
4) Phen however has not learned much from last episode and impulsively decides to bareback ride the cat rather than sneak by it.

Gear Combinations:
1) Acroyear's sword and OB's wheel for a sword drone. (Fails due to lack of Micronium)
2) Xant's gauntlets and Acroyear's wings for a big gun that looks nothing like its component parts and blasts Xant back like a jet engine.

-ZacWilliam, Baron Karza really has a sense of humor in this show and it serves to set him apart a lot from the Lex Luther voice he has in his less snarky moments.

Episode 6

Plot:

An actual Xant focus episode. After an incident trying and failing to negotiate an accord with a really very large spider given their size, Xant is feeling like the team doesn't trust/value him. Phen in particular laments his lack of combat skill. He's venting to Quin outside when they are attacked by a bird of prey. She accidentally open a portal and they fall through back to the Microverse. The two are separated and Xant is captured and taken before the planet's council of elders. We learn that he supposedly betrayed his former Micronauts team but has always maintained he was framed. The Elders believe all the Micronauts are working with Karza and ask him to betray them, promising him fame and renown if he becomes a double agent. Xant absolutely refuses (and they refuse to believe the team's innocence). Quinn bursts in through a portal on a monocycle and rescues him. She's found another Time Traveler who owes her a favor and he sends them home. They get there just in time to interrupt their memorial service and Xant is praised for his loyalty to the team.

Developments:
1) Introduction of the Council
2) Introduction of a second Time Traveler with a cool scar (c)
3) Xant's backstory
4) Xants brain changes color when he's nervous
5) Hey the Micronauts get a cool Motorcycle
6) Begining of the mystery of why there's micro-tech in Cam's garage
7) We learn Cam's Mom works for a Science Company and might be connected to the tech.

-ZacWilliam, two really good humor bits in this one: When Acro realizes Phen could have just freed them from the spiderweb with her wings and then OB points out Acro also could have done that at any time and they're just like "well... oops". And then later when Cam and his Mom start arguing and then switch roles during the fight and he takes on the parental part of the argument and sends her to her room and she goes and starts playing annoying music loud. That was real cute and a funnier more realistic feeling moment than you normally get in these shows.

Episode 7

Plot:

OB focus episode. He finishes the Recharge Station but Cam would kinda like his room back a little and the rest agree that a headquarters with room for everyone would be best. Between all the requests and being left behind when the others all go on an arial recon mission (even Xant because the new monocycle from last episode can fly) OB is starting to feel under appreciated.

Cue flashbacks. He used to not be a cyborg and be a key member of a crack squad known for his speed. On a rescue mission he saves a child that is almost left behind but ends up getting his lower half frozen solid doing it. When he's recovered and now a cyborg his old squad still wants him back but he's bitter and down on himself and no longer believes he can help in the field so he turns his back on them to become the guy who runs the evidence lock-up.

In the Present he decides to prove his worth (Despite his friends not actually doubting, and Quin acting as Therapist) by finishing that space pod they recovered a few episodes back. He does but is shot down by Karza's robots. His friends come to the rescue but he falls through the ice, reliving his trauma, but getting over it and saving the day. But little do they know The Karza bots managed to upload all his plans for their base and recharger and give them to their boss.

Developments:
1) Oberon's Backstory
2) Oberon's old squad introed
3) ReCharger and Space Pod activated
4) New Micronia Base planed

Gear Combinations:
1) Oberon ener-changes the mono-cycle and the Spacepod into an ice-skimmer vehicle.

-ZacWilliam, I like the Yeti Monsters OBs team fights in the flashback.
