Well, SNME has come and gone.

It was kind of a bland one, despite all of the hype going into it.

Randy Orton vs Drew was the best match of the night, with Jelly Roll and Logan Paul causing ruckus outside the ring. Great ending with the RKO, and Jelly Roll saving Randy from Paul, only to eat a Claymore to setup a tag team match at Summer Slam.

Sikoa and the MFTs beat Jimmy to retain, and Jacob shows up afterwards to fight them all.

LA Knight vs Seth ended badly. Seth legitimately got injured landing after a missed moonsault. They paused the match to check on him, then let LA Knight give him a gut kick followed up by a BFT for the win. This apparently changed a lot of things. As I guess I was right about the planned ending for the Goldberg retirement match. However, with Seth out for the foreseeable future, that changed.

It was an okay match. Probably the best Goldberg match I have seen, but the ending was so lame. Having Gunther kick out of a spear and Jack hammer combo is pretty much bubble popping. If this was a change due to Seth not being able to run in, it was a lame change that was literally the worst option.

Raw was pretty good. Seth is legitimately hurt and at the best Dr for it at UAB, which is lucky since Raw was in Birmingham last night anyways. Sadly though, Seth did not appear and no one gave an update on his condition. On a side note, I wished that I had known they were coming so close, as this would have been a great time to watch it live. Oh well, the best seat in the house is still at your house on TV.

The main event was good, with a Gauntlet match, starting off with Penta vs Breaker, then Breaker vs LA Knight, then Breaker vs Jey, and finally Breaker vs Punk to see who would face Gunther at Summer Slam. Breaker managed to get through the first three clean, but Reed had to help with Jey and Punk. When reed interfered with Punk, Jey came back and got him out of the ring, allowing Punk to counter the spear, hit the GTS, and get the pin and win. Reed and Bronn attacked both Punk and Jey after the match, and were about to tsunami them both, when the OTC's music hits. Roman is back and beats up both Reed and Bronn. Picks up Jey and gives him a handshake. Leaves Punk on the ground though.

No disagreement there. Looking forward to what happens next. Wonder if this means we will get Roman vs Cena soon?

So yeah, He wasn't hurt, which means all this was for the Summerslam twist. I hate it, because it means that SNME in Atlanta went down exactly how they intended it to go. Which means they always intended for Goldberg to lose and that they cut off his speech at the end. That was lame in itself. Secondly, you don't fake injuries like this. We are your co-conspirators in this ruse. Ask the Von Ericks what the fans do when you try to fake an injury for the story. I mean this reminds me of Tony Khan wearing a neckbrace to the NFL events after he got a piledriver in AEW.

Anyways. Punks has the new shortest title reign record, which I don't mind, and his match against Gunther was great, with Gunther getting too cocky and leading to his somewhat bloody downfall. Though to be honest, they could have had some fun with this and kept it going for a while. Punk just constantly running out of the arena when Seth's music comes on. However, we got this, and we will see if it goes anywhere.

Cena vs Cody. First of all, that was the lamest way to turn him back face. Just one assault from Cody and now Cena is back to factory settings? Not the R Truth match or CM punk match where they tried to bring him back from the Heel side, but this? Oh well. We still got one great match out of it, and surprisingly, they went with Cody at the end. After that we get the long awaited return of Brock Lesner, who doesn't do anything in the match, but waits until it was over.

Yeah Brock Lesner returns. Great job there Triple H. Hey what about that federal lawsuit you've got?

If I recall correctly, She and Brock never met. She only sent pics and messages to a telephone number that was supposedly to him.

Where is this case at anyways?

Nope, but it's bad writing and a bad idea.

Now, every time someone legit get hurt, this is going to come back to people's mind.
How is that different from any other time in modern wrestling history (by that I mean since the advent of the Internets)? The blurring of the kayfabe line regarding injuries is hardly a new thing.
