Kind of fits, unfortunately. Predaking is $450, Zoids Optimus is $300, T-Spark Rodimus is $250 and Macross Prime is $200, this T-Spark/Synergex line is NOT budget friendly. The cheapest stuff is still around $50 for the deluxe sized stuff like Monster Hunter Prime.

For that much I’d at least want each individual beast mode to have limbs proportional to the other pair. Yeah, compromises have to be made for the lack of partsforming and crazy proportions but I dunno, it’s relatively cheaper at $330 here and I still think that’s a bit much for something that really doesn’t fit in with the rest of my collection.

I was cautiously excited about this when we saw the first images, but not so much now especially at the US seller prices. I mean, why the hell is BBTS adding $125 to the MSRP PLUS tariff charges? Ridiculous. Plus, it was clearly designed with the combined mode as the priority, and that's fine as it looks great in that mode, but only that mode.

In addition, it seems Hasbro most likely has a new Predaking set in the pipeline, I'm guessing for 27 or 28 at the latest. I think I can be patient.

They are?????

BBTS looks to have it for $450, which is the same that TFSource has it as. And the Japanese price is ¥59,400, which is about $400.

I'm confused where is the added $125 BBTS added to the price????? Am I missing something????? /gen

I think it has to do with my comment of how much it is here in the Philippines. Stores have preorders listed for PHP 19,000 which converted is about USD 330. The math doesn't math completely but it's close enough.

That said, sure, part of that markup is probably BBTS wanting to make a buck, which is fair enough; they aren't a charity and this is an expensive, relatively risky item to carry. Most of it is probably the cost of arranging to ship relatively small quantities of them to the other side of the globe. Kind of like the situation with Haslab projects in this part of the world when Hasbro Pulse Asia went kaput. Omega Prime and Liokaiser cost around $420 each instead of like Star Saber and Deathsaurus who cost the same to back as anywhere else, because the later Haslabs were manufactured in Asia, shipped to the US then shipped back to Asia for third party retailers to sell. Japan is 4 hours tops by plane from here, so I assume transporting products from there to here costs significantly less.

Even if it was in my range, I know T-Spark Rodimus had some issues with the joints. They're openly touting the die-cast here but I remember how my G1 Transformers as a kid had both paint issues and joint breakage where some thin plastic met heavy metal. That's even been a problem in Missing Link nowadays, and from the look of it, there are a LOT of joints and a LOT of paint on this. I know it's not intended as 'a toy' but I like to be able to actually transform my Transformers whenever I feel like changing how the shelf looks (I am not one of those who can afford a separate toy for each mode, so I just change the mode itself). I'd be very iffy on a combiner of this cost range having a part break.

Admittedly, this is also why I went for the Hearts of Steel two packs for my train and Transformer obsessed nephew rather than the Trainbots. I'm well aware it's entirely a personal/financial issue. If someone can afford it and is tolerant of or whose collection style totally negates the risk, I'm all for it and I look forward to the pictures!

And speaking of pics, one of their official ones looks like the sort of thing you'd see if gym membership drives were a thing on Cybertron.
