Our grandparents never gave up collecting bad furniture. Why should we give up collecting?
Because they had pensions and retirement plans and 401Ks and could afford to buy a house and a car and 50 acres of land while working one job steady for years upon years?

I just got SS86 Skywarp the other day. I decided I wanted to go ahead and swap his face with Thundercracker's, since they fit so much better that way. Thundercracker's face popped out with minimal effort using a plastic spudger, but I'm having a lot of trouble with Skywarp. I can see my spudger bending and starting to get stress marks, so I don't think that's going to work. I tried a pair of metal tweezers that are on the thick side and very smooth without any sharp points. I've used as much force as I think I can without breaking something, but it still just won't pop out. Is there some trick to this? Unless there's something I'm missing, I might've just gotten one that's extra glued in place.

Edit: And just like that, after I give it one more try with a different spudger, it suddenly pops loose. I now have a serious Thundercracker and a grinning Skywarp, just as Primus intended.

Why not just swap heads?
That's included in my comment about breaking something if I used any more force. The heads are glued together, not screwed. They are a tight fit on the ball and mounted on a neck that moves. I tried applying force directly to the helmet to pop the head off. I stopped when I heard a cracking sound.

Yeah, it isn't always as easy. Especially since they started gluing, rather than screwing, heads together. The size of the neck ball and the head socket sometimes makes it really scary to try and pop the head off, especially if the latter is a more restricted socket that tapers to more or less close around the ball. Sometimes it comes down to hoping your copy didn't get as much glue as (or it dried differently from) others'.

A blowdryer might help if you wanna remove heads that are glued together. Intense heat can both soften plastic and weaken glue.

As cheap as Hasbro is these days, I'd be worried about the hair dryer melting the figure. 💀

It's amazing that they've experimented with swappable heads multiple times but then they go and glue heads together.
