Kranix's altmode is actually from the comics.

Anyone else seeing a Vast Predatory Bird in Kranix's altmode, or is it just me?

Seriously, it looks like one of the Convertors Avarians....

Astrotrain looks noticeably better but not significantly so, especially at Leader prices. I’ll probably stick to the DCS release. Shockwave, eh. I’d hoped that any retooling would help hide his feet in spaceship mode better but looks like it’s a simple de-Stegeing. Kranix fell down and can’t get uplol. The design’s not great and his only notable feature is is avoiding getting eaten so he can later get eaten. Already haveEarthrise versions of the car guys so eh. Not buyingninto the new seeker mold.

Jeez, nune at TFW2005 just ruining ALL of Hasbro surprises :p

Aside from finally getting a Kranix, it's a pretty lackluster wave, IMO. Sunstreaker and Wheeljack aren't terribly exciting after recent reissues/repaints. Skywarp adds to "the set", but Thundercracker is just now becoming available. Shockwave isn't a horrible execution given he hasn't been at mass retail in this form for a good while, but Astrotrain looks pretty lackluster. The alt modes look better, or at least more toon accurate, but the bot clearly saw where the sacrifices had to be made.

I've got Siege Soundwave (and his awesome extras), I've got Wheeljack from prior releases. And none of the other releases excites me at current retail pricing. For a long time fan, it's pretty..."meh".

Kranix: Wow, was not expecting this. Robot mode looks great, alt mode is... a thing, but hats off to Undead Scottsman for pointing out it originates from his Universe bio. Personally, no interest in the character so probably a skip.

Astrotrain: Robot and space shuttle look pretty awful, train looks great. Robot mode is probably mistransformed (surely those chest flaps flip down?) but probably gonna be a pass for me, unless future pics make it look better. And I haven't bought an Astrotrain toy since 2006 Classics.

Shockwave: I still haven't picked up a copy of this mold, this might be the one I finally bite on.

Skywarp: Looks good, still trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on collecting an SS86 trio of seekers or not.

Sunstreaker: Don't have a copy of this one, and it looks like they got the roof to match this time around. Yellow is still a bit more cheddar-y than I'd prefer. Those who have it - good toy, worth picking up or no?

Shockwave is just the Siege toy without the splatter paint and extra weapon parts, plus a gun of himself? Meh, if I didn't already have it, I'd be more interested, but it's not enough of an improvement to double dip.
I never got the Siege version and was mad at myself, that’s why this one is a buy. I like it without the extra parts.

For now, for me, its just Kranix I want, Astrotrain just looks a mess, thou I hope the guy who does pictures of the figures for us from Hasbro can actually produce some better shots than the offical shots, the rest, I'm not intersted in, Wheeljack, this is like the third time I think they released that figure and second with Sunstreaker, for me, both are easy passes, Shockwave, I'll likely pass as there's nothing new going on, so the best out of these reveals is Kranix and he could be repainted/retooled into Arblus possibly at some point down the line, thou he is extremely obecure character as he had no speaking lines aside from a death scream when he was consumed by the Sharkicons

i like how hasbro cant decide if they want to do super smooth sunbow lack of detail like they did with ss86 thundercracker or not

like on repaints it's obviously one thing but for new molds make a damn aesthetic choice

Shockwave apparently being just a reskin of Siege is disappointing. He was already a little on the small side compared to Siege Megatron and Soundwave, albeit not enough to be a problem. Unless he's been upsized in some non-obvious way, he's going to seem dinky standing next to other SS86 Decepticons.

I'll hold off final judgment on Astrotrain until we see him transformed properly, but first impressions are that he's considerably worse than Siege or DC.

Getting Skywarp and Kranix. Already have the other two.

Also the Matrix

Looks good, but I'm guessing most people will balk at the $125 pricetag.
All I got to say is that if it doesn't give you the option of playing "The Touch" when you open it? What the hell are we even doing.

Why does Hasbro want me to spend $47 on *another* puny, out-of-scale Shockwave when I could instead put that money away in anticipation of them actually releasing a great one later on?

The main thing that would interest me is a new take on Astrotrain, and this IS that. And I do respect the effort that's gone into reconciling these very different altmodes. But these pictures are not very flattering, especially that robot mode. I'll wait to see more.

Kranix is a welcome surprise. I'll pick that one up.

It's nice to be getting the 5-pack decos as singles, so I'll consider that Sunstreaker (for Wheeljack I may get the current MTMTE Series/Edition/whatever one). I'd REALLY like a Jazz already though.

Shockwave I'm a little torn on, as I'd love that mold with the reduced greebling, and that shade of purple is really nice after what I felt was the too-dark shade of the first one (which I have). But this is very much a lateral move. And I'm sure there will be better demands on my money by that point. I can definitely wait and see if this lingers on the secondary market.
