Perhaps it might be possible to swap out the Fusion Cannon for the Siege/Earthrise one, if the new one is 5mm compatible.

Or even the one included with DNA Design's upgrade kit for SS86 Optimus.

My initial thought was that the cannon’s back end was long to fill in the turret but, no, it sticks out the back.

I got nothing.

I wonder if we'll get a giant gun handle to re-enact Skybound Megatron's gun mode or if that's too risky even for 3P. Though I know there's already at least one 3D-print design out there for the Siege toy.

It'd be a big rectangle of black plastic so nothing I can't see them doing seeing how several 3Ps have made entire transforming gun Megatrons and gotten away with it by not advertising it on the box.

Galvatron was shorter than Rodimus according to the G1 size charts so him being shorter than Megs isn't that crazy an idea. It's also worth noting that the Galvatron figure in that comparison pic has a wider stance, lowering the height a bit.
Wait, he was?!

Shoot, then Kingdom REALLY screwed that up!

That chart is kinda not fair to Galvatron since his pose is shown from an angle above rather than straight on like Cyclonus next to him.

Wreck-Gar and Scourge are also victims of this since they're both posed squatting a bit instead of standing upright at attention.

I love the scale charts. They're the primary reference I go to when determining how figures should scale next to each other. However, I think there are limits to how much precision you can glean from them. Like Sabrblade points out, they aren't all done in a similar pose, so you can't always get a good 1:1 comparison. There are also issues in that there are multiple official scale charts that aren't perfectly consistent with each other. For example, while maybe not completely relevant for SS86, the Headmasters scale chart on tfwiki shows Galvatron just a tiny bit taller than Rodimus, basically from his head crest.

So while they're the primary reference, what I take from them is that Optimus, Rodimus, Megatron, and Galvatron are all supposed to be about the same size. Add the simple fact that Galvatron is supposed to be a more powerful Megatron as a secondary source, and my final conclusion is that Galvatron being notably smaller than Megatron just feels wrong. Again, there's some wiggle room, but this case exceeds any allowances I'm happy with.

I like the idea of Galvatron being a little bit taller than Megatron, but based on the reformatting scene, it looks more like he's really just bulkier.

To me, anyway. Hard to guess the director's/animators' intent (for whatever that's worth) when they're floating in space like this

I wouldn't call SS '86 Galvatron "notably smaller" than SS '86 Megatron.
