Finished the first run yesterday, got the "Making New Memories" ending. While the costumes range from "kinda cool" to "looks like someone told a bad AI to generate a 'sexy cyberpunk swimsuit' and just went with it", it's a pretty solid action game under the gratuitous fanservice. Like Nier Automata, but with the body horror enemy style of Control.
But now it's bothering me that I missed one can, and it's past the point of no return, in an area with no fast travel points between two closed off points, so I guess I'm going again. On the plus side, now I can one-shot minibosses that gave me a rough time the first playthrough, so this will go a lot faster.

There a bunch of things you can only get through new game +. And with all the levels and knowledge gained, New Game + goes by rather quickly. I actually enjoyed going through it multiple times if for no other reason, it's really the only way to max out your stats. It's also an easy game to Plat...but it does require multiple play throughs.

A patch today adds a Christmas tree to Xion, along with some holiday themed clothes and accessories. The Rudolph set for the drone is kinda terrifying.
Two endings down. Only missing three trophies for the platinum (so, four counting the platinum itself), but also have other stuff to play. Considering one of those trophies is, naturally, the third ending, do I want to run through again so soon?
If you've been doing new game + instead of starting fresh(which is kinda necessary for maxing out stats for some of the trophies), any one playthrough shouldn't take that long.
I honestly played this three times back to back. But I'm not most people I understand.

Maybe if there's some DLC or something with more story later down the road (there's still a few locked doors in Matrix 11 that specifically get voiced lines saying we can't go there yet, either there's more planned or it's just cut content they never took out), but for now I think I'm done with this game.

Yeah, I went through new game + a couple times to get a bunch of the stuff beyond the point of no return. Every once in a while I'll pick it up after a bad day where I just want the viscera of slicing something to pieces with a big ass sword. Every once in a while they'll add a new suit with a surprise update.
But other than that, it is one you tend to set aside after accomplishing what you've set out to do.
Still, it's probably one of the easier platinums I've gotten.

Well, okay, not even going to try to deny that there is plenty of that. But there's also really smooth combat, tight controls, a good leveling up system that makes you really want to use that New Game + over and over again, some pretty good puzzles...and yes, plenty of fanservice.
I honestly don't have any issues with the fanservice so long as it doesn't come at the detriment of the gameplay. And honestly, the gameplay is also really solid here.

I just looked up Nikke and it looks like it's a free-to-play mobile game. I've learned to be wary of those given "free to play" typically mean "please deposit another quarter for one more minute."
but since it's a Shift Up game, and they have earned some amount of trust from me, I may check it out later.

Most F2P games let you use a set amount of stuff daily, the option to pay comes up with being able to do things faster or get more tickets for gacha.
I have around 8 F2P games I play, and I've thrown a few bucks to my fave ones but I rarely do so. I much prefer physical products. If you're patient about leveling and don't care about rankings for events, you should be fine.
If you're worried about self control, you should be able to set a password for purchases or set a monthly limit.

The Nikke crossover is live. Ten bucks, or a bundle with the Nier crossover for $18. Looks like, aside from the obligatory costumes, it also includes an extra boss fight and a shooting minigame. Debating if I want to dive back into this game again. Really wish it had a chapter select on New Game Plus mode.

I'm genuinely a little surprised that it's nude mods. That base game already has what amounts to a fancy nude costume. Actually, a lot of the costumes in the base game look like the kind of outfits that would usually be added with mods. There's school girl, office lady, and bunny girl costumes already.
Decided to go ahead and buy the bundle. But since I left off at the ending, I'm gonna have to go through the early game again to get to the new stuff. Turns out they also added more new costumes in the same places as they were in the first and second playthrough. They really want people to keep playing this.
