New info on Frontiers' development. Sage could have had eyes like Metal Sonic. Then again, she could have had a cute hat.

Going back to Sonic Boom. I only have season 1 on DVD, as my Walmart had the limited edition boxes with the figures. Kinda disappointing that didn't seem to carry on to season 2. Season 1 part 1 gives you Sonic and Eggman, and Season 1 Part 2 got you Knuckles and Tails.

You'd think Season 2 Part 1 would give you Amy and Sticks, but no. You get a Sonic backpack clip (Of Sonic) and season 2 part 2 didn't give anything from what I can see. >_<
Not getting a Deluxe set with Amy and/or Sticks chapped my ass, especially with Sticks' figure being rare and expensive.

Was more aggravated by that than I was about one of the discs in one of the sets was only in Spanish, which the company offered replacement discs.

I was thinking about the discussion about the mysterious character in IDW but upon seeing an upcoming solicitation I'm wondering if we're asking the wrong question. The question has been who is the mysterious character but should we be asking, "what's the end goal?"

It's Kit, isn't it? While I was thinking it might be him previously, Issue 89 has tied my thoughts together. The what and why are pointing to the who. The brainwashing/hypnotism is giving off themes of trauma, control, and separation from love ones. That, combined with past issues and upcoming solicitations makes me think that the plan itself is about trauma and separation instead of trying to rule the world. I don't think Starline is back but rather that Kit plans to inflict the mental suffering he and Surge went through on a large scale. Sylvania Castle might be a test bed away from prying eyes. The pool at the bottom of the pit (if that's a pool a gem or something) might be the source of whatever's making the fog. And it seems like the gloved hand has been shown to hypnotize people.

Wait, is Knuckles in trouble?

The mysterious figure did flash Knuckles in the face and, though nothing immediately came of it, you usually don't show something like that without a reason. The why is easy there since it's setting up the ability to either steal or neutralize the Master Emerald.

An earlier issue had a collection of monitors watching characters in the series, including Kit and Surge.

Anyway, picked this up for $9.

Figured it's worth it for material that's highly unlikely to be reprinted again, even if THAT NAME isn't connected to this collection.

Never got to read those comics, so, what's with the three Sallys?

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I do not know for certain: but it seems like the three different version of sally from the three source. Satam, the american comic and the UK comic.

Using unfinalized character models. The yellow haired shows up in the 'first' issue (#0), then the pink with dark hair takes over (and was used in the ABC pilot episode?) before the version that launched a million simps was finally used.

Pretty sure UK Sally had a completely different body design, from what I remember of looking at pics of the Fleetway comics.

Yeah, there were some coloring inconsistencies in the first couple issues of the comic. They couldn't quite decide on what color scheme they were using, because even the SATAM TV show didn't really decide until the last minute.

They eventually retconned it into the result of Sally falling into a vat of Robotnik's chemicals while she was on a mission. And it taking months for her to get the toxins out of her fur, while it slowly changed from blonde to pink back to her normal color scheme (In Knuckles #29). Basically, she fell into a vat of bleach, I guess.

And UK Sally is just...completely different.

Well, my job here is done.

Oh, and I guess I'd be remiss in not noting the fourth version of Princess Sally Acorn...

If memory serves, btw, "Sally Acorn" was the name given to the squirrel(s?) that you free from Robotnik in the Genesis games, hence the same name being used in both Fleetway and Archie/SatAM.

Well, if we're just going to start listing off versions of Sally, then...

I'll spare anyone who doesn't want to be a part of this nonsense by hiding it under spoiler tags, okay? Fair compromise?
We'd be REALLY remiss to not mention Mecha-Sally.

And Alicia Acorn! AKA Anti-Sally from a morally flipped world where good is evil! And where she owns a whip! The whip is very important to her character.

And Prototype Sally, who only exists in concept art! And who's probably the reason why Sally was blonde to begin with!

And Queen Sally from the 30 Years Later alternate future (which...there are about 4 different versions of, but I'll limit it to just one.)
Queen_Sally_Acorn.jpg

And Sallactor! From a universe inspired by Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets/G-Force/Whatever else we're calling that anime this week! Where she's inspired by the villainous Berge Katse!

And Femme Fatale Sally! From a film noir detective world!
150

And the lawyer, Sally McAcorn! Because Ally McBeal was big back in the day! And sometimes all you need to get a weird alternate version of a character is a bad pun!
180

And up from the depths, thirty stories high, Sally-Zilla!
180

And, who could forget about the most important Sally of them all! She's fighting evil by Death Egg Light! Winning love by Chaos Emerald Light! Never running from a real fight! She is the one named Sally Moon!

Sonic was doing the multiverse before it was way past cool! And even longer before people got sick of it. There's more Sallys than you can shake a stick at, and people have TRIED, trust you me! And hopefully, there will be many more to come! (But, I wouldn't hold my breath.) We used to get more Sallys than we knew what to do with. And now we get nothing. Tis a shame, a crying shame.

Interesting that Blackwood from the current comic storyline used the same terminology of "my benefactor" as Infinite from Chaotix Casefiles. Don't know if that was purely coincidence or wholly intentional.
