Site issues

Currently there seems to be an issue with the site getting over run by "Guests" sessions viewing the site. These appear to be mostly bots originating from China, Vietnam, etc.

This is causing some problems with the database server tracking sessions and causing it to be flooded, thus generating that "Oops!" error.

I'm working on a solution to prevent it from continuing but you may experience the errors from time to time until that's solved.

I'm still getting them. I just got them at 9pm and 11pm Japan time today. Site is also slow when trying to post messages.

Cropped up for me this past 24 hours or so. Dang AI bots!

I put a bandaid on it until I get home from work and can block more countries and IPs. But it's okay for the moment

It has also cropped up that sometimes when clicking a forum link, it'll prompt me to download files from the Allspark. Just a bit ago, I was given an error for "Load cannot handle many redirects greater than 20" after clicking the General Discussion forum link from the Forum mainpage. If that helps in troubleshooting

I emailed the Allspark (via the "submit news" email address as that's the only way I know how, outside of using the website) and now there seems to be a verification step used to access this site now.

If that's the solution, then thanks.

I'm glad you can still access it. It's not an easy thing to fix since it's a bunch of bots and VPNs. A HUGE chunk of that is coming from Asian countries. I tried to give Japan a little leeway.

I don't know if things are completely fixed but I'm still working on it. It's kind of in a 'wait and see' state at the moment.
