Toys Return of the Monkey King: Optimal Optimus Reissue

Due to a massive outcry from fans including an ongoing 15 month siege of the Hasbro Offices by protestors demanding it*, Hasbro has announced a reissue of the 2018 SDCC Exclusive Throne of the Primes set. This set features Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus repainted into a black/white/red color scheme, a cardboard throne complete with a Wheel-Of-Prime Masters, and crown and scepter accessories. The set is available on Hasbro Pulse and other online retailers for $99.99

I'll admit to be a bit facetious with the article. I wouldn't be opposed to owning it, either. I don't $100 want it, but I get why people would. You do have to admit that its a bit of an "out of left field" type reissue, though.

I thought it was $70 before? They jumped the price up $30 for an entirely reused mold, didn't seem to improve the lackluster stickers, AND the throne still can't flush...?

The optimal optimus mold is pretty awesome. Bulky but with good range of motion.

I was never really all that keyed up about this version of Optimal Optimus but I guess it's cool that its getting back out there. I guess it's something that they still had the mold/tooling for, and thought it would be worth another trot. I wouldn't drop a hundred large on it, but that's just me.

This was my thought process at the time, and the exclusive Prime Masters (wish they had shells, but I ended up making some) kind of sealed the deal and let me talk myself into the price tag. I wanted a Primal Prime out of this, and probably would pick that over S1 Primal colors, but I was surprised at how much I liked the look of this.

I get the +$30 USD late (inflationary + opportunistic) fee. But this is Commander class price now and it's not worth that. If it'll be clearance out then I'm in. otherwise I can wait for redo with all 4 OG modes & better accuracy.
