Wow! They really haven't aged a day, have they. Of course, I watched that on my phone. A bigger screen might make it more depressing. But hey, they look good!

Unfortunately, Scrubs was one of those shows I absolutely loved while it was on and never missed an episode...but by the last season I was honestly more than ready for it to end. So I'm not sure how I feel about it being back.

Just been watching a video about the origins of the Headless Horseman, its genuinely intersting as the basic idea dates back thousands of years across the world and various cultures with the main theme being the head the centre of power, before that, I was watching a video about the origins of the nursery rhyme, ring around the roses, one might think its centuries old but the truth is, its FAR younger and likely the youngest nursery rhyme in existance, currently

Why is it always funny when someone makes a picture of a kids show character flipping someone off?

I'm just going to put a thought out there. No research. Nothing to back it up with. Just a theory and I'll leave it up to y'all to agree, disagree...whatever...

Generational slang is probably why it's so hard for the common man to understand Beowulf these days.

If you cut out the two-thirds or so of Beowulf that's just listing lineages (do NOT turn it into a "did Tolkien steal this name" drinking game, you WILL die), it's a pretty simple story. The main thing is the constant references to magic swords that keep breaking. If you're expecting, like, +2 flaming swords of holy smiting or whatever, they're not that. Vikings considered it magical to use animal bones in the forging process of their iron weapons because they believed it made the swords stronger by imbuing it with the animal's spirit; really, the added carbon just made primitive steel, which was stronger than raw iron but still pretty mundane.

Deadass, if the writer of Beowulf were more poggers and wrote with more skibidi rizz, readers wouldn’t roach out on them. No cap.
Okay...so old English isn't the only English that can be incomprehensible.

Even when I was a kid I was out of the loop on slang. I don't know how I was supposed to know. If there was a mailing list I wasn't on it.

It always fascinated me when I was a kid that slang was pretty much consistent across the country (with some allowances made for California surfer slang). This was in the days before internet...at least, widely used internet.
