I don't know why they bothered. If they want mutant dinosaurs so much, they have a far less stupid way to do it. Base the normal dinos on today's chonky reconstructions, and base the mutants on yesteryear's shrinkwrapped monstrosities. And throw in a tail dragger somewhere because we all miss those whether we want to admit it or not.
What annoys me is that it's just so lazy. There are so many more creative things you could do with dinosaur monstrosities. Look at kaiju films or Monster Hunter or a hundred other sources. Instead, they went with a fat T. rex with extra arms and a head tumor.
This industry does not know what to do without Stan Winston.
I'm not a huge fan of the made-up creatures in JP but if you're gonna have mutants and hybrids, they should do something that no regular dinosaur could do. The Indominus Rex being a gigantic theropod with cloaking, intelligence, bloodlust and invisibility to thermal imaging is crazy but it at least serves a narrative purpose of causing the destruction of a park that had already learned from the original park's mistakes. The Indoraptor in-universe is marketed as a more portable and weaponized version of the Indominus Rex which isn't the worst idea ever on paper. I don't want to talk about the bugs. The D-Rex basically does one thing that's sort of cool, if not obviously ridiculous, and then nothing else but be ugly.

If Hollywood stopped making movies for franchises that have had bad movies, they wouldn't exist.
Because it doesn't matter how bad these movies get. The box office returns are insane.
The Jurassic movies after the first and maybe second one are basically portable theme park rides and they know it. I'm okay with that. It's refreshing when these entertainment types know their niche and stick to it.

I will always be disappointed that in Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong, DC comics just gave Kong a Green Lantern ring instead of having Batman find out about Monsterverse Kong's orphan origin story and putting him in a giant Robin costume.

Setting aside the song dating itself severely with references to 7-digit phone numbers and the Yellow Pages, it strikes me: in the age of the cellphone, prank calls are nigh extinct (not necessarily a bad thing). Everything has caller ID and visible numbers, nobody (that I know anyway) actually picks up a number they don't recognize...heck, the song has a clip of one of Bart's prank calls from The Simpsons, and the show dropped that bit how many years ago?

the last regular episode to do a bart prank call was in 2018, but a 2022 episode had bart sending moe a text message with a fake name
