Oh yeah, that's DXRobo Universe.

It's a semi-spinoff toyline of relatively cheap Sentai robos (MSRP is ¥4800 so about $33 US) where the whole gimmick is that they all have a shared inner core body that you snap the parts onto to make the robo and the idea is kids can mix and match both the core body (which can come apart and snap together in different configs) and the robot parts to make their own creations.

I say semi-spinoff cuz IIRC one of the mecha from last year's Boonboomger was also built around this same core body and it is compatible with them and Tega Sword toy (the mecha and transformation device from the current season) while it doesn't use the whole 'inner core body with parts you attach' it does have compatible connection points on the arms to work with it.

It's also uses the exact same connectors as the old Bandai America Zord Builder stuff.

Y'all remember the Black & Gold Megazord toy from the OG Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toyline?

That jive was made canon in the current Sentai to promote the fact that they're selling a black & gold version of the DXRobo Universe Daizyujin toy I'm not joking btw.

Nah, Zyuranger is the farthest back they've gone and everything else is from the 2000s or 2010s.

Mind I'm talking 'out of a grand total of five toys so far'.

The vehicle ones don’t look too bad but this and The Gaoranger/Wild Force megazord are terrible. The price makes it somewhat understandable but IDK, if you’re cheaping out at least throw a couple stickers in the box.

I'm so glad it's friday. One more day after this and I'll finally be free for a couple days.

Okay, real talk...is Johnny Mnemonic so bad it's good or is it so bad it's bad?

Personally, I enjoy watching it in a cheesy 90's movie kinda way. Even the scenery chewing "I want room service" bit was enjoyable in a hammy sort of way.

Plus I absolutely love how much Cyberpunk 2077 took from it.

But that's just me.

Look up Neuromancer and Snow Crash sometime... those are usually considered the start of the genre, and what a lot of that old school cyberpunk references(and still does to this day)

Here's what I have so far on Kindle. I read the Johnny Mnemonic bit from Burning Chrome, but I was at work and had a bunch of interruptions. So I'll have to try again at some point.

I just started Neuromancer last night.
