I like how Vegeta’s god-level power up is a means of weaponizing his jobbing.

Also he immediately loses after obtaining it. Only way it could be any more classic vegeta is if he pointed to himself.

We're just going to have to make a dedicated Dragon Ball thread, aren't we?

You all have 5 minutes to decide.

Which I guess in DB time means take as long as you want.

Pretty much, an hour is really a couple of hours, but if they went by the actual time, then the Tourament of Power in DBS wouldn't of been so one sided to one Universe knocking everyone out

I think half of the issue with DBZ time is multiple perspectives... like in just a basic fight, you get 2 perspectives you have to show, plus inner monologs, then stock animation, then sometimes narrator, and 3rd party perspective... so like it's the same 5min fight, but it takes like 3 episodes worth of run time. I'm sure most people are aware of this, but meme is meme... sometimes I just like to state the obvious on the off chance you've encountered a special beam cannon litteralist who thinks piccolo sings the entire menomina song from the Muppets before killing radits and goku.

Most of those fights could probably be edited down to five minutes if you truly remove all padding. And I mean actual padding, not "It's not in the manga!" padding.

I'd be curious to watch an edit like that.

If you seriously encounter someone who thinks a dumb joke from DBZ Abridged is canon, slap them. Even Team Four Star hates that.

(It actually is canon that the Makankosappo is more powerful the longer it's charged, AND that Piccolo only having one arm at the time made it take longer (even though he only ever fires it from one hand anyway), but still.)

I mean, he can also regrow his arm just by focusing for a second and yelling at it. I guess he just didn't feel like it until after Radditz was dead. Or he just wanted an excuse to shoot Goku in the chest, which, fair enough.

IiRC regenerating expends Piccolo’s ki. He also seems pretty worn out and breathing heavily each time he regrows his arm. Guess he thought he needed a stronger beam and stamina more than two arms.

So there's a part in the first Terminator movie where Sarah asks Kyle about Johns father. Kyle says John never really talked about him but he knows he dies before the war. Sarah cuts him off saying she rather not know.

But like, there's one major clue that she must not have picked up on that the relationship doesn't exactly last too long.

John's last name is Conner. Didn't that catch her attention?

All the times I've watched this movie and I never caught the fact that his name isn't John Reese!

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is... James Cameron.

From Sarah's view at the time, it could be that John's father and her were together for a time but never married and she had to raise John on her own and the father exited their relationship when she was carrying John or after he was born, but then John is the result of a never ending Paradox loop, if you take T3 into account, no matter what Jugement day was always going to happen and Kyle would come to exist and one day, go back in time to save Sarah, without knowing he is John's father, John is told little of his father and he takes steps to ensure that stays alive and Kyle goes back in time to save his mother and it just keeps going and Skynet cannot learn because its trapped in the loop as well, as its role in the loop is to be the threat that has Kyle go back in time and the two protector Terminators to also go back and protect John, once as a boy and then as a young man, living off the grid, it never ends, not until John is forced to kill Kyle in the future before he goes back in time, thus erasing himself in the process and completely changing the course of history, but John doesn't want to do that as he wants to live!

The original Terminator movie is my favourte, as it builds the suspense up carefully and nicely and to start with, you not sure exactly what is going on with these guys appearing Naked in back allyways, its only after Kyle saves Sarah that we start getting the information drops about the future war and Skynet trying to erase its arch enemy before they were born, Sarah was weak and vunrable to start with, but she finds strength and courage and finally puts an end to the threat to her life, yet it comes at a cost! T2, while it builds upon the first time, its not as gripping as the first one as that was made on a smaller budget and there isn't the same character growth as you get in the first film

I understand the reasons of it. I'm just saying, it should have been a big clue for Sarah that things don't exactly work out with the father.
