I'm a bit baffled to, after all this time, still the Thunder Megazord referred to on the packaging as Mega Thunderzord.

Why did that ever happen (I remember the hype of The Mutiny being somewhat undercut by it back in the day)?

The logic of it as I see it is: Season one they were just called Zords, and season 2 they are the Thunderzords. So if the combination of the season 1 adjectiveless zords was Mega-Zord; then season 2 Mega would come before Thunderzord. But I am glad they switched away from that to having Megazord being its own thing and adding the adjective before it rather then mega modifying the type of zord.

That doesn't seem to work, because Megazord and Ultrazord each refer to different combined modes (and were typically parsed that way in print.) The main outlier is Mega-Dragonzord, which seems to be better for the Dragonzord In Fighting Mode as opposed to Megazord with Dragonzord poncho. (Iirc there were a few dubbing/script flubs there too.) So it seemed odd (especially since the toyline generally got "Thunder Megazord" correct!) that the show was having trouble keeping that straight.

Season 1, they were Dinozords.

Debates have been had for decades over the accuracy of the term.

Oh, right, I remember hearing about that some time ago... possibly from you?
Yeah. Speculation was that the Magna Defender, being a whole new mould, didn't have the budget for a Mike civilian head. Some people were using spare Jason heads for him, but seeing as my LC display is Lost Galaxy and S1 MMPR... that wasn't viable. So I bit the bullet on a third party Mike head from RangersForge (same place I got a complete set of Quasar Sabres from because what the hell, Hasbro?). Got my order in just before they announced they were shutting down too.

Season 1, they were Dinozords.

Debates have been had for decades over the accuracy of the term.
Just had this conversation with my friend who showed his five year old MMPR for the first time.

"He loves it, but he's already pointed out that three of the Dinozords aren't dinosaurs."

I told him to tell his kid he doesn't know more than a floating space wizard head.

It's also less accurate in Japan: "Zyuranger" was really meant to be "Juranger"...as in "Jurassic Ranger". And literally none of them are based on anything that lived in the Jurassic period. (The so-called "Pterodactyl" is a Pteranodon.)
"Ju" means "beast", and the zords were called "Guardian Beasts".

ConnerTheWaffle has emerged from the drek of the Neo-Saban Era and into the short-lived breath of fresh air that is the Hasbro Era:

I mean.. the show did show that as a whole SPD was.. kinda corrupt.

Birdy may not have been a "corrupt" officer for example, but his intent on basically punishing the ones doing things correctly made him as bad as A squad in a LOT of ways.

Sigh.

It's funny, I was just reminded that was a thing in a video the other day, too.
