I've never understood associating T30 Metroplex with FoC Metroplex. I mean, they both have differences from G1 Metroplex, but they aren't the same differences. Aside from having the circle in the middle of his chest being red, I struggle to come up with any feature of T30 that's closer to FoC than it is to G1.
You know, since I never actually owned T30 Metroplex, I had always presumed he was co-branded with the game on the box. Today, I looked up the toy (the box more specifically) and no mention of the game. So I guess it all blended together when hasbro released the first titan-class toy along side it's big appearance in a super-hyped AAA videogame. Which was the crutch of my entire bit, and why I hunted the Blokee. Hell, even before I knew about the Blokee I got picked up the Super Collection Figure Metroplex Build-a-figure at BotCon to use for this tribute to my vanity.

The primes! Micronus, onyx and alpha trion arrived a few minutes ago, so I figured a quick and easy family portrait was in order. The only ones I'm missing are the currently unreleased stuff.

Besides the aforementioned voice lines, I'm pretty sure his play pattern of "artillery stations all over" is meant to evoke that part of the game where you man an artillery station there and use it on Decepticons.

That really is just about it.

The FoC version seems more... robust...

...versus the almost lanky proportions of T30.

And here's his alt mode in the game:

I thought I saw art for it before, but can't find it now. Seem to remember it looking a little more dome/building-ish.

Ironically, Cybertron Metroplex seems to form a closer approximation, minus all the guns...

Aren't those the same tabs that are meant for the extra legs to peg into in robot mode so as to allow the toy to replicate the two-legged version of the robot mode seen in IDW1, as opposed to the default four-legged centaur version of the robot mode?
What? No, you’re like talking about three or four completely different things actually.

There are tabs in the torso proper that the hooves can slide into after the legs wrap and compress around the shoulders into the torso in the toy’s official 2-legged robot mode.

To create the “two-legged version… seen in IDW” it’s pretty much just a fan mode where you unfurl the front centaur legs and leave them partially curved and sticking straight out, because that’s what’s in the IDW depictions.

And what “default” robot are you talking about? The character’s depiction in the comics or the toy? Because the toy has two official robot modes; the centaur, and a bipedal one that is NOT the same one in the comics, but maybe is something that is more similar to what is seen in TFOne.

Also the real Onyx Prime in the comics had a centaur mode, and OnyxWave had a bipedal robot mode but with dangly centaur front leg kibble.

As for the tabs on the shoulder pads on the toy, there is not really a way to orient the front centaur legs to peg onto them in ANY of the robot modes, “default” or otherwise, except in the way I showed in one of its beast modes.

I still generally don't like how SS86 is taking the established WfC/Legacy/AotP scaling and blowing up select characters (e.g. Optimus, Megatron, Magnus). However, one nice thing about it is that SS86 Megs looks a lot better alongside his namesakes than Siege/Earthrise does.
