It helps a little to take the armor parts off the thighs and peg them onto the forearms. The legs are less visible under the skirt wings, so it doesn't really affect them much, but it gives the arms a little more bulk.

But, yeah, mine is staying in dragon mode most of the time.

One slight hiccup with Rathalos Prime being female might be that Rathalos are specifically male - females of the species are called Rathian and look slightly different.

...But now that I say that, I guess there's precedent for a Transformer's beast mode not matching their gender. Tigatron scanned a female tiger, for instance...

Mostly a Gobots post, but I finally got something I had been stalking for a long time: Monsterous.

Awesome! I've got Gore Jaw coming via ebay, still need a South Claw (the one with the painted wing ribs), but got 2 of the other winged arm guy, so I can at least form a passable Monsterous. Not sure why I never tried to finish the set before now, but a couple fortuitous collectible store finds finally pushed me towards completion.

That's pretty much how I got Puzzler. I bought a lot that had Tic Tac and a Crossword that the previous owner had hand painted silver for some reason, and had just those 2 for a while until I found a Pocket which inspired me to actively complete the set (including a correctly colored Crossword)

The Cybertron Sideways remake is finally among us but is he a good toy or just an impostor? Being a remake of a Cybertron era toy who wasn’t overly affected by his gimmick to begin with, he has a lot to live up to. Articulation isn’t significantly different at first but the waist and ankles really help posing possibilities and his leggy proportions are made for dynamic poses The clear orange is sorely missed though.

His weapons now all partsform. The legwings can detach to form swords and nolonger posses the hinges to move them from vehicle mode to robot, now manually having to be removed.

His shield-blade thing retains the faction-switching gimmick for when he’s feeling sus but it is now accessed via a manual switch. The blades still unfurl but similarly only manually. No spring-loaded ejections here. It is now a detachable accessory instead of a permanent fixture and in fact, has a completely different mounting method in vehicle mode. He has a Planet X key with a Decepticon symbol. No real reason to remove it unless you want him to reenact all 10 minutes he was hanging out with Autobots

Vehicle mode is largely the same as the original. Slightly less paint detail on the wings but what is there is stunning. The Halloween colors and silver are striking. The painted parts that were clear in the original toy are a different shade of orange but the shade is a bit anemic. Sculpting is somewhat greebly as was the case with Cybertron toys and many surfaces are notched, embossed or vented in some way. Undercarriage is pretty good but you’re going to have to decide if the visible crotch sabotages the entire thing. It ooks like something Batman would pilot. No action features to speak of and no landing gear is present. Flight stand port is on his butt but is inaccessible in vehicle mode.

Overall, Sideways is a good representation of the character and is a well-built and satisfying toy in his own right. While he has a list of tasks that would be considered mandatory due to the legacy of the original toy, he does most of it well. He’s worthy of joining your crew.

I'm very curious about this one, as modern articulation can change up the only real weakness of the original, which was the awkward posing of the lanky legs. Some of it will remain just because some of the proportions are more or less the same, but the ankles will be a big help in at least keeping it stable.

There's some kind of special juice in the vibe of this pair of Cybertron remakes that I didn't really feel from, say, Starscream (who still looks great). Hot Shot and Sideways don't change nearly as much, but improve things nonetheless. I guess Hot Shot/Excellion does noticeably change up the upper body proportions, leading to a weirdly lanky torso. The chest doesn't extend past the folded-in arms, so it's kind of smooshed into a narrower, longer-looking torso that reads like a rectangle with extra corners. It's kind of distracting, but is kinda saved by the rest of the robot mode having a lean, dynamic feel. (And then there's the face sculpt, which is unpleasantly flat-with-extruded-lips next to the original). Nonetheless, the overall execution is so good I kind of want to backtrack and get Hot Shot (despite his unsightly two-tone blue in altmode) after having made a beeline for Excellion. I now also kinda wish we could get a new-mold do-over for Cybertron Defense Hot Shot, because Sky Blue Hound is not really it (ironically, THAT headsculpt is really good).

This Sideways looks to sidestep even those issues, and just looks amazing. I hope it gets a reasonably-wide release in Noisemaze Mass Production Type colors.

I'd love to get this one, as the color scheme is my jam, but I have no idea if I'll be able to.
