Oh. I guess all the pictures I saw were very strategic with their camera angles.
I have Heatwave, of course. Not as good as Chase, and as others have said, remolding Animated Optimus would probably have been the better play, but I like him well enough.
Not without quibbles, but I'd rather have it over no Heatwave of this kind at all, if those are my choices.

I really like AotP Heatwave and I'm not even a RescueBots fan.
Then again I like the Legacy Bulkhead mould in general and think it got a lot of undue hate.

I mean my real issue with AOTP Heatwave is that like...since it doesn't have the canopy for the back of the vehicle mode like Bulkhead has, you're just stuck with the robot waist and upper legs being visible all the time in vehicle and that's just honestly ugly. (And then there's also the connector piece for said canopy is now always visible as well since, obviously, the ladder doesn't cover that up so you just have more just...mess always visible in vehicle mode with Heatwave)
I know this isn't going to change anyone's opinion, but the ladder is designed to attach like this:

Eh... some fire trucks, depending on the model, can be a mess of parts and hoses and ladders back there. I think I also just have a lower standard for Transformers fire trucks? Like... RiD '01 Prime is rightfully held up as an all time classic, and he's got his super mode robot head just sitting there.
A Transformers fire truck with a mess of parts back there is like a jet with robot mode bits folded up in the undercarriage. Not the most elegant solution but it's just par for the course.
I think the worst part is the arms just being there. The color makes them stick out already but additioally, them being bent at such an unusual angle makes it seem like a fanmode. The random jumble of red parts and feet sticking out the back don't help of course, but they pass the squint test.
I also think it's fair enough for RID Optimus to have his Super mode head visible when he has three and a half modes to juggle while Heatwave only needs to manage two.

Pretty sure those are the thighs rather than the arms.
What would help is if the medium gray side tanks were also red and dark gray side racks were inside light gray.
Yeah, I think the arms tuck into the cab.
Where do the side tanks go in robot mode? Might have helped if they were more vertical. Maybe folding in half for where they go in robot mode.

Derp. You see, I never bought this mold because somehow it's been used three times and somehow never quite being all that good a fit. Plus, First Edition Bulkhead is near-perfect.

Rescue Bots had the best character designs of its era. It's crazy. I have not seen one episode but I would pay Titan prices for a good High Tide.
