Ah yes, the reason my friend has very little impulse control.

Me: "Hey I found Earthrise Thundercracker and Skywarp, but its the only one left."

Him: "Ah.. damnit... I'm not gonna have enough to get them this week."

Me: "You sure? They're a pretty rare exclusive."

Him: Eh... Yeah... I'm sure. I'll see them again.

Narrator: He never saw them again.

Similar story to me. I'd spent my fun money budget for the month when I saw Concept Megs. Thought about it but decided to wait. Came back the next month and he was gone.

Yeah, He gets to the point where he'll hem and haw if he's close to budget, but 90% of times ends up "risking it". Though he does always makes sure everything most important is taken care of first; but its also why it can be hard for him to save money. He's learned two main rules when it comes to TF toys:

1. If i don't get it now, I might never see it again.
2. If I can't find it in person, the second I get it online, it will be at every store I go to from then on.

He's an appliance repairman, so his job takes him nearly all over the state; so he still does most his toy shopping in person since every time he's in a new town he can just check the stores and gas is covered by work.

It's a tricky landscape to navigate; buy something when you see it at full retail, or wait for a sale and maybe never see it again. My rule of thumb has been "if it's a new or unusual character, buy it now. If it's the 13th iteration of a G1S1 character with slight improvements, wait and see." It's rarely done me wrong, but I bought most of the Star Seekers on sight with this principle, and then watched them go on clearance for like $7 after it was too late to return them. (OTOH, I have some cheap duplicates for potential customs now, so it's not all bad...)

Nah, God Fire Convoy's real daddy is obviously God Ginrai. ;)

He the Granddad and father to Star Saber, thou Star Saber clearly is adopted and by some time winely stuff, becomes Fire Convoy's dad who in turns becomes the Father of Armada Optimus, but the Great Grand father is Ultra Magnus as he is the first one combining with his trailer to be a stand alone bot as Power Master/Super Grini comes later, at least with a truck form as the first combining we saw in TF was the Constructicons, so they could be considered the genesis of combining robots in TF, Omega Surpeme took things slightly differently along with Skylynx

Not sure where, but I'm sure I saw someone ask before how Velocitron Hauler looks compared with the SS86 Constructicons, and I don't remember ever seeing any comparison pics. I finally had a chance to pull Hauler out of his storage crate, so:

Obviously, mine has some of the Toyhax sticker set to make him a Decepticon. Basically, just the purple windows, red eyes, and Decepticon badge. I didn't care much for the rest of the set.

I will note that there is a definite difference in their shades of green, but it doesn't seem quite as pronounced to me in person as it looks in pictures. SS86 is probably closer to how they typically appear on screen, and probably closer to the G1 toys too, but I actually prefer Hauler's darker colors

A couple months back, I had a really good eBay interaction. I'd been browsing through some listings, probably from one of my saved searches e-mails, when I came across a user (vertysnapsales) selling a bunch of reproduction G1 sticker sheets. What jumped out at me was a sheet for G1 Black Rodimus/Dark Hot Rod.

Now, I never cared for using the supplied standard Hot Rod stickers on him, and I've been wanting to get a SG-based sticker set to help him match the other SG/black Hot Rods for ages. This set was based on the MP Black Rodimus, so it wasn't quite what I wanted. I tried contacting the seller though. A couple hours later, they had a new listing up (at the same price) with a customized set dialing back all the MP-based light blue:

I'm really happy with how he turned out. The stickers themselves are pretty nice. Paper quality's good. When I realized I'd messed up and applied one of his shin stickers before reassembling his legs, I was able to peel it up and replace it with no issues. As seen below, they aren't as shiny as the G1 stickers, but look good on their own. Only minor issue I had is that whatever machine was used for pre-cutting them didn't quite get the end of the cuts to perfectly align with the start, causing a little disconnect on each sticker.

Only other thing I have to add is that Takara really needs to get back to making those translucent Hot Rods. 😍
