Back in the early 2000s when repaints were all the rage, I remember asking people how they treated the same mold but a different color into their fiction, especially if they were in different factions. The discussion led to someone saying they always envisioned mold-mates coming out of the same production facility on Cybertron, then chose their own path as to which faction they sided with over time. I always liked that explanation for repaints.

Well, "two warring factions of alien heroes and villains" isn't unheard of in Transformers.
I keep forgetting that show had deep lore. I mostly remember the Ducks' agent looking like Paul Heyman.
