Amalgamous is kind of a middling mold. While his robot mode is definitely interesting and far from the G1 blockman standard, it has problems. The head is on the shallowest 5mm peg, making it prone to falling off. The rear arms are mounted awkwardly and generally can’t assume many good poses. Lastly, the hands aren’t very good at holding 5mm pegs. Articulation is decent enough though I wish the head had more range. Colors are decent, though I’m not a fan of the cheddar plastic.
He’s pegged as having altmodes limited only by your imagination but in practice, there’s only around a handful of good modes, since there’s not a lot of connector points. I dunno, I’m just not finding enough ways to peg stuff together that aren’t just limbs taped to other limbs. Maybe some accessories with altmode parts like cockpits, guns and construction stuff with built in connectors would work.

I'm not sure how much is the lighting and how much is an optical illusion from having the purple site theme framing the pictures, but at first I thought you were showing off a custom Shockwave paint job on Amalgamous.

There's something about this design and those specific colors. If not for the flared eyelash bits on the eyeball shoulders (and I guess the shoulders themselves), it would feel even more like either a LEGO vehicle or a Diaclone revival design. It's kind of quietly impressive how much of a departure it is from the Transformers aesthetic, even beyond the non-humanoid-robot-ness.

Twas very easy for me to notice, since I always lamented as a kid how my original didn't have red eyes like in the cartoon.
The silver fingertips also stood out since mine definitely didn't have those (I remember the fingers so well because someone's dog partially chewed the ones on mine).
It wasn't until BotCon 2022 when I finally got a copy of the Metals version in all its red-eyed glory.
I have a particular memory of someone in the 90s who thought it was the silliest thing that there was this new X-Men video game out where Cyclops would shout OPTIC BLAST every time he used his laser eyes.
