It took a month longer than I had originally thought, but...
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen is now available for purchase on PS4 and 5. PLUS! Blood Omen 2 is also available!

I played a bit of BO2 back in the day, recall it being..fine...but not terribly interesting relative to the slew of other 3d action adventure games of the era. I'm surprised at how much I've enjoyed Blood Omen 1, though. It's definitely a bit...crunchy...and I FEEL the PC DNA in its design. But I've been remarkably engaged, even with the cryptic-ness of a 90s action adventure title.

First Off, Astrobot, the GLORIOUS platformer from Team Asobi, won Game of the Year at the Game Awards (among other nods). While I have nothing against the usual open world adventures or RPGs that tend to dominate awards season (and Metaphor WAS well represented this year)…it’s still refreshing to see something so quintessentially “video game” get some much deserved accolades.
AstroBot is running around $30, if you have a PS5 and don’t have it? Go buy this to keep sending the message of the kinds of games we want to see.

Second, Naughty Dog finally revealed their long gestating new title called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Based in a retro-analog future, details are sparse, but I’m betting a release in the next couple years if they’re starting to show it now (The title has been in development since 2020).

It's easily the best platformer that isn't Mario. Even Mario may be debatable. It's far better than it has any right to be basically being a sequel to a tech demo...which was also far better than it had any right to be.

So, random question.

I haven't been on Playstation for a while. Today I was charged for 87 bucks, which I assume is their version of Live. I tried to log into my account to see if I could get it reversed, but I can't get into my account. Password didn't work, the email they're supposed to send didn't show.
How the deuce do I get back into my account? At the very least to change it so I won't get surprise charged again?

They have a phone app. You can try to recover the account through there if doing it through the system itself (or PC) won’t work?

Website directs me to customer service. Their online customer service doesn't do anything for me and the number I found operates on business hours so I'm screwed till monday I guess.

I'm not worried about playing any games. I want that frikken 90 bucks back. It is not a good time for that kind of expense.
Sure.

I'm just saying that they are probably not the most customer-friendly of the platform holders out there, so... good luck, I hope you get your money back, but I don't imagine them as being terribly helpful/cooperative about it.

I play games on PS mini to catch up on games I missed in the PS 1 era.

The PS 1 mini has a resume save marker. I use it for games like Syphon Filter so I don't fall off or something.

Tomb Raider was the rare case as each time a new game came out you have to buy a new computer.

My plan is to play the Survivor Trilogy (Tomb Raider X - XII) on one system.

A bit of treat for Armored Core fans this month:
The first 3 Armored Core titles on PS1 will be added to the classics catalog next week, while tomorrow's final drop for Astrobot (for now...) is called "Armored Hardcore". So it's safe to say the level will have some nods to the classic mech shooter franchise.

Playing

Kim Possible - What's The Switch?

On PS2. Will need to max out lives before resuming Mission 4.

On another note this is in regards to Tomb Raider. I think you should try to play the game on the system it was 1st
released for due to emulation on the newer systems. Tomb Raider IX Under World was released on PS 2 and PS 3.

I lucked out with the first 5 games from PS 1.

The only way for this to work is if Legend Trilogy (VII - IX) got remastered in the same manner as the 1st 6.

I ran into this with Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 on PS 3.

New State of Play, this time covering a larger range of titles, though most are slated for 2026:
Saros is a new title from the developer from Returnal
Microsoft Flight Simulator comes to Playstation this December
Looks at Zero Parades for Dead Spies (from the creators of Disco Elysium), Battlefield 6's single player, and Halloween The Game.
Revealed Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered, Deus Ex Remastered, Code Vein 2, and a PS5 version of Last Epoch (a Diablo-like that has been a success on PC), Crimson Desert, and Mega Man DLC for Sonic Crossworlds Racing.
Plus several other game reveals and dates. Notably, Playstation Classics will be getting Tekken 3 and Soul Caliber 3 in the coming months with Tomb Raider Anniversary.

New Playstation hardware is a limited edition God of War themed controller and new Pulse Elevate wireless Speakers.

Presentation ended with a big look at Insomniac's Wolverine (rumor is that Venom might have gotten scuttled after the big leak last year or year before. Or Venom got backburnered for Wolverine). No direct link to the trailer, because it is TOTALLY NSFW with the violence. But it confirmed Liam McIntyre (Spartacus, DC DTV Captain Boomerang) will be playing Wolverine; continuing the character's strange meta association with Australia. Trailer showed bloody fights with cyborgs (maybe teasing Donald Pierce and Lady Deathstrike?), Omega Red, a cameo by Mystique, and teased a big Sentinel fight

So more Magic the Gathering then Playstation here, but one of the next round of Secret Lair card drops (a limited print online order set of cards) is going to be all Playstation based. Going available Oct 27th at 9 am PT are seven different sets.

*The Last of Us Part 1
*The Last of Us Part 2
*God of War: Greek
*God of War: Norse
*Uncharted
*Horizon: Into the Forbidden West
*Ghost of Tsushima

GoW :Norse is only 4 cards while the others have 5 each. Now here's the deal breaker for a lot of people. The normal versions are 39.99 each, and the foiled versions run 49.99 each. And usually there is an unknown bonus card that isn't known until someone gets it in hand.

So good news each set has one or two new Legendary Creature cards based on the main characters of the games. TLoU p1 has Joel and Ellie. TLoU p2 has Abby and a different Ellie. GoW: Greek has Kratos. GoW Norse has Kratos and Atreus. Uncharted has Nathan Drake. Horizon has Alloy. and Ghost of Tsushima has Jin Sakai. The rest of the cards are believed to be reskinned Magic cards with art and names using the games.

But the skinny of it, it's rare that the value of the cards adds up to what you pay for them. Some previous sets skyrocket due to collectability. The recent Sonic Secret Lair cards haven't done great over all but the secret card being a chase between the Master Emerald Pedestal or one of the 7 colored Chaos Emeralds has the Chaos Emeralds going for at least about $200 each. But again that's due to only possibly getting one of the seven in a set you buy. And right now there is no real idea where value will fall here. The Sonic set I got only had the Master Emerald Shrine which is just a reskinned Commanders Tower, a card reprinted to hell because it's a commander format staple land. I bought Sonic for 39.99 retail from the sale directly are collectively only worth about 20 bucks all together. But then again some of my other Secret Lair purchases can pay for themselves with a single card at times. I got the Doctor Who Secret Lair for the same amount and the Fourteenth Doctor is valued at 95 dollars. But it helps that 14 is the only Doctor that opens up the ability to play with every incarnation of the Doctor in one Commander deck.

Seeing what's going on with the Character cards there are some fun plays in the game to be had, but I'm not seeing anything breaking a game completely yet. The art looks great so far. Once the full roster of each set gets posted we'll have to see where the sets fall value wise compared to the cards in them.
