Movies and TV Peter Cullen has died at the age of 85.

Sad news for all Transformers fans. The iconic voice for not only Optimus Prime, but many other classic characters such as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh and K.A.R.R. from Knight Rider, has passed away. In this week where we have already felt the loss of Dolloy Parton and Tim Curry, this news just hit us like truck. We here at the Allspark send out our love, thoughts, and prayers to Peter Cullen's family, friends, and countless fans around the world. Thank you sir for everything you have given us, and for teaching us all to be strong enough to be gentle.

[wonko the sane?]

So, song was taken from us, laughter was taken from us, and now HOPE was hugging taken from us?!?! God damn, how much more will 2026 demand from us?!?!

My brother has rightly pointed out that Hasbro's "Apology Tour" hits rather differently now (and it was always a bit odd).

At least he got to live long enough to see it.

It made me very happy to see Peter Cullen continue to perform as Prime in so many projects. Saddened to know it is over. 'Till all are one.

Yalllll I’m not ok on this one….

"I am Optimus Prime, and I send this message so that our pasts will always be remembered. For in those memories, we live on."

It is very sad that we are at that point in life where all those people we grew up hearing and seeing in our childhoods are passing on. And yet they still exist in every role and every character they breathed life into. It’s both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

And Peter Cullen gave the Predator its distinctive voice too.
RIP Peter Cullen!

”Autobots! Transform and Roll Out!”

[Platypus Prime]

He'll be back...he always came back.

This has been a bad week for good people...

[Corvus]

He was strong enough to be gentle, just like his brother wanted.

'Til all are one.

I've just been numb this entire day.

Think I might skip the forums tonight.

Mr. Cullen transformed and rolled out from us......

I rarely spend too much time doom scrolling, but I spent the whole yesterday doing just that. Reading all the tributes and stories told of how Mr. Cullen built our personalities in ways large & small growing up and the memories he gave many meeting them at Conventions was the only way to ease the pain... a little.

Why is this week hitting us so freaking hard!?

[Platypus Prime]

Because being punched once is a shock but recoverable. Being punched three or four times in a row, depending on who you knew or how much impact they had in your life is some serious damage all at once.

[GodSentinelOmega]

Agreed.
