Promising news regarding the production and casting for the upcoming next season of the Netflix Avatar series:

We watched about 1 episode when the Netflix series launched and my wife didn't like it and it got dropped, but I have almost caught up by myself the last few days.

I can't remember exactly when I watched the cartoon. I watched on DVDs, but I think I got started before they were all out. So I went through it fairly fast and a long time ago and have never rewatched. I loved Iroh by the end, but I don't think he caught my eye for quite a while. Did they hit the ground running with him a little better in this new series?

I know some of the story is left out and compressed and rearranged, but it has been long enough that I don't really remember much detail. I feel like this show really captured the essence.

I'm excited. I really enjoyed the first season (minus Episode 5 being such a dud, but Episode 6 being the GOAT almost makes up for it).

I got started on season 2 last night and will continue a bit tonight.

I know it wasn't a creative decision, but I'm trying to decide whether I think Aang's voice changing enhances or detracts from the storytelling.

Checking but did the Aang movie go to cinemas?
It had an extremely limited screening in just two theaters (one in Los Angeles and one in New York) from July 24th to July 30th, just so that it could technically qualify for the Oscars.

What's the best way to support it?
Paramount Plus, which was/is its primary release venue.

Been hoping for good news on fans getting interest up and studio regretting not putting it in cinemas and there being a second movie on the way. But no?

Anyhow, can discuss the movie here?

I can say, while I like Batista and what he's trying to with his career, his voice work could have been stronger. He wasn't emotional enough or didn't sound invested. Only time I believed his character was when he said "you RAN!"

Also, could have ended it without the final reveal. I know it was important to the lore but it didn't fit with the story. Sorta.

Seven Havens hasn't even released yet and already we're set to be getting another Avatar series right after it:

I would prefer a live action version of The Legend of Korra over another live action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender because Korra was an awesome show that took a lot of creative risks.

I'm watching live action Netflix Avatar s2 ep1. Was this addressed?

Kiyoshi was an Earthbender. Suki just meant that Kiyoshi can use all four elements?

Anyhow, the changes that ep1 made that I liked was Aang nearly killing the sea serpent and had to learn healing then. That was cool.

Also the absolute psycho move of Azula forcing Mai and Ty Lee to kill each other. Mai really was scared to Azula and tried to kill Ty Lee at the count of 7. Ty Lee only went for the kill at 3. Terrifying. Ty Lee would have won too.
