Here's some more Live Action casting news!

Though, this does bring up a interesting question.

...Which is a spoiler, I guess, if you're only following the live action story. So, I'll put it under spoiler tags.
Is Pell MORE...or LESS likely to stay dead in this new live-action version of the story? Because the live-action has NOT been shy about killing off characters who survived in the manga when it suits them. But, with Pell...I feel like the reason he didn't die in the manga is still pretty relevant today, if not moreso. So, will they actually kill him off for good...or would they hesitate to do that, given everything else going on in the world, right now?

Also, today is One Piece Day!

And to celebrate, Toei didn't just announce ONE new anime movie...they announced TWO of them!

Getting a God Valley movie is kind of interesting, given that was a major part of the actual manga. I don't know if this means they'll be skipping that flashback in the anime episodes or not. But, I suppose this MIGHT give Oda a second chance to maybe fix a few..."inconsistances" that kind of have popped up the longer the Elbaph arc has gone on. We'll see. I do wonder how much will be added to the movie?

As for Film BaaD...that's a curious way to spell "bad", isn't it? So, either we'll dealing with a "Ghost Ship Merry" situation (because sheep go "baa")....or it could involve the Will of D somehow....or it could be based on the Somali word "baad" which means "You are" hinting at a possible Blackbeard origin movie....or it could take place in the Bad Timeline from the SBSs. It could be anything really. We have VERY little to go on. I'm hoping we see the Bad Timeline, myself. Because I think it'd be fun to flesh that out. But, we'll just have to wait and see what this is.

I guess this means Oda isn't planning on ending the manga before 2029, though. Which...that's interesting speculation. I wonder where the manga will be in 3 years time?

Still nowhere near the end. Oda is NOT a man to be concise. Even if we're nearing the end, we've been nearing the end for years now.

I just don't know, I guess. I agree...Oda does NOT seem to be in any great rush, right now. But, he's been taking breaks more frequently, and it just has me worried about his health. I feel like this ending sooner rather than later would be better for him. And him releasing the real-life One Piece Treasure out into the world makes me feel like he's getting ready to say goodbye to this story.

And I feel like we COULD potentially have only one more arc left after Elbaph. I really could see the next arc being the last one. But, there are other arcs he could do, too. So, I don't know. I DO think that when the end comes, it's going to feel more abrupt than people expect or like. But, that has more to do with Japanese storytelling traditions than anything else. Sudden endings are generally seen as more "artistic" in Japan, from what I understand. But, we'll see what happens, I guess. Maybe this really will go past 2030.

When Oda first came up with the idea for One Piece, it he predicted it'd take 5 years to tell. He has had so many ideas that his editors had to convince him to combine some things into single arcs. People have been predicting since Wano that there'd only be 3-5 years left before the story ended. Its been at least 3-5 years since then. He had in fact pondered Skipping Elphaph entirely to make the ending shorter.

It's just that I also see there being a problem with "escalation"? If Oda wants every arc in the Final Saga to feel bigger than the last, then we're kind of running out of room to make things much bigger. Given current events in Elbaph...I only see room for maybe two arcs, max, worth of escalation from where we are right now. And that's assuming things get truly cosmic by the end of the manga. It just feels like Oda's running out of room to top himself, right now.

...But, yeah, even if it IS only two arcs, max, those two arcs could go on for 4 or 5 years or more. Depending on if we get another Wano-sized arc. (Which I kinda hope not, but we'll see.) So, I guess we don't have to get that many arcs for the story go on for a fair amount of time. Especially if Oda REALLY fleshes out the Void Century flashback.

Far be it from me to criticize someone who never runs out of ideas or the energy to commit them to paper; it's a much better problem for a creator to have than the opposite. But there's something to be said for being aware that while you might be willing to make a single story your life's work, your audience might prefer not to.

YO! Here's how the story goes, We find out! About a pineapple under the sea, there's no doubt! If the pirate fry-cook's hand is steady, he'll sing out
"I'm ready, Mr Krab-be! WE! ARE! READY!"

Honestly? Robin and Nami should be switched. Also...who would Shanks or Roger be, in this universe? I'm going with...Shanks would be Fred the MY LEG guy. And Roger would be Patchy.
