My Adventures With Superman

Silver St. Cloud is another Batman character, an occasional romantic interest for Bruce Wayne starting in the 70s. At least the version in MAWS is fairly similar to how she was used (socialite, event organizer) in the comics. According to Wikipedia, she also appeared in the second season of Gotham (I stopped watching after first season).

So no powers? Shame. Silver St Cloud has metal, holy, weather related powers in the name already.

Saw s3 ep7 the Ex Games

Well, that felt like a waste. Unless the lightning anvil thing comes back, what was the point?

I'm assuming Clark in a speedo is a reference to all the dumb Superman wearing underwear over his pants.

Hunger dogs means Darkseid. I bet his US anime design will have a beard, haha

I guess she'd be Batman's Silver Lining, hehe

Saw s3 sp8 It's Reigning Superman

Got very fast paced again. I recall seeing a black haired Supergirl in modern comics covers. Don't know who that is but I guess that's the reference to this Lara.

This Jonathan has a bad attitude. Then gave up later, sheesh.

Eradicator is like the evolving Doomsday. He grew hair to counteract Lara's heat vision? Hair counteracts lasers? Haha

So poor Krypto Creature has been hiding on a rooftop all this time. Poor guy. Lost his indoor forest for an urban jungle. Clark didn't even flinch when Bizarro appeared.

Kara is dead, sure. When she comes back, it'll probably be a whole new Kara, like how they switched out Jon to Jonathan.

There's a lot of speculation that this whole thing could be a reference to the World Forger (AKA Alpheus AKA the Brother of the Monitor and Anti-Monitor). So, this could be setting up for some big, cosmic arc in the future?

Well, the name "Lara" is probably a reference to the Supergirl from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, who's actually the daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman. Who had blue hair...but that's close enough to black, in comics terms.

But, the character you're thinking of might be Otho-Ra (AKA Starchild), who got adopted by Superman after he saved her and her brother from Mongul's Warworld. They're basically half-Kryptonian, coming from a different planet that Kryptonian exiles settled.

...Or you might be thinking of Superwoman, who's actually Lois Lane who got superpowers from stealing them from General Zod, accidentally.

You're probably not thinking of Cir-El, who hasn't appeared in years. But, I'll mention her, too.

There's been a few black-haried Supergirls over the years.

And it's worth pointing out that Superman actually has a pretty long history of having twins, in different universes and imaginary stories, going back to the Silver Age.

Cir El is the Supergirl I'm sure I saw on covers. Ed McGuinnis art? Can't be THAT old? Haha

Saw both s3 ep9 and 10 Vae Victis and The Return

Is the barbarian Clark a reference to the red sun at the end of time comic and JL S2 Hereafter 2 parter? Hereafter part 2 was one of my fave episodes ever. The white fur coat is the same but this Clark has no beard.

I thought the green invaders were Coluans and I was right! The fact that he was Brainiac was a good reveal. But I didn't think Coluans were fighters, until it was revealed they were refugees too. That was cool.

Clark should have been having blue electricity around him, not red.

Is the Brute body of Eradicator a reference? The lean body Eradicator is VERY Loki looking, haha

Don't like the white armor Clark but must be a reference.

Bizarro is called Cousin. That's nice. Would have been nice is Creature Krypto is involved in the fight. How in the world did Bizarro get a job and an apartment anyhow?

Lean Loki Eradicator turns into a bearded version. Is the look suppose to look like, I dunno, a version of Zod? The armor must be a reference. Maybe Superboy Kon El reference Black Zero?

Ugh, Lois shouldn't have proposed. They shouldn't be married. If this was really rom com anime inspired show, there has to be a season where Clark gets an anime harem, haha. No seriously, don't let them get married. Though Flamebird would have been a perv is this was a classic anime, haha.

Done with the season. It was pretty fun. Will probably look at othet reviews about it.

Yeah, this is part of what I was talking about with the possible connections to the Lantern Mythos. Clark goes red when he's angry. Just like how we saw Kara glow red, briefly, when she was angry. But, usually he goes blue, supposedly because he's trying to be peaceful and "hopeful".

Red Rage? Blue Hope? Yeah, that ties in suspiciously well to different Lantern colors. So, I'm not sure if these creators are doing something there to tie Kryptonian tech and/or biology into Oan tech. Or if it's just broadly how "color theory" works, in general.

I'm not totally sure where they're going with that. Other than maybe doing "Superman Red/Superman Blue", in some form. Again, there is a "My Adventures with Green Lantern" series in the pipeline. So, they might have something planned, there.

Yeah, they did it a third time. When New-52-era Superman merged with Convergence-era Superman to create what was essentially Rebirth Superman.

To me, it feels like they're broadly references to Kalibak and Desaad from Apokolips. Y'know, Darkseid's minions. Which...is weird. But, it's also weird how there's a form that is DEFINITELY a reference to General Zod. So...I guess they were just throwing in whatever references they liked?
Don't like the white armor Clark but must be a reference.
With the golden S-Shield, I feel like this is broadly a reference to Superman One Million. It's definitely not a exact match, but I feel like that's what they were going for, in their own way?

I thought the main Eradicator shifting to the bearded form was meant to look like Jor-El, as though he were mocking Superman by assuming a form that resembled his birth father.

Though, to me, the face of the main Eradicator looked less like Loki and more reminded me of the face of Oroku Saki from the 2003 TMNT cartoon.

Huh.

Yeah, I guess I could see that. The hair fits. Although, it's weird to "mock" someone by showing them a version of their father that they've never even seen before.

I guess I'm not sure what they were going for with the Eradicators, here. Whatever they were going for, it was NOT clear enough.

They were travelling through time, so maybe the idea was that they were taking on the forms of various villains from Superman's rogues gallery in the future?

I don’t really want the emotional spectrum brought into Superman, haha. I like Blue Superman as he was, not tied to the Lanterns. But I think they missed the timing to do the Blue and Red thing, aw. Didn't know it was from classic comics, ooooo.

Bearded Eradicator did sort of look like Jor El! But also Zod. But as far as I know, Eradicator from comics doesn't do time travel or Digimon evolution stuff (haha). Doomsday does an instant evolution thing tho.

But I liked the middle Oroku Loki form and the Zod El looks. The Brute Kalibak form was just too much like Cousin Bizarro.
