More Cassettes for Soundwave and Blaster?

There are a few things I'd really like to see from Hasbro/Takara someday: A Schools Bus Transformer. An on-model Scrounge and BM Jetstorm. And ALWAYS more cassette friends for Soundwave or Blaster.

These un produced G1 designs would be awesome from Missing Link:

Years ago I designed a Snowy Owl cassette that someone was cool enough to make a 3D model of:

Derrick J Wyatt came up with a couple cool ones:

And a quick web search shows me this custom Sea Turtle:

I'm curious, does anyone else find the Tape Robots as compelling as I do?

Maybe it's from collecting them as a kid but I would continue to buy any new G1 or Gen style tapes anyone was making.

If we ever got some more is there a particular animal you'd like to see get a cassette toy?

-ZacWilliam, finds it hard to pick a favorite idea.

I can never get enough of these guys. I'm more focused on the modern figures than G1 these days, but I'll take more of the cassettes however we can get them. So Missing Link? Sure!

Perhaps not, but I did just buy Studio Series '86 Perceptor as my second/probably last Transformers toy purchase for the year (after AotP Heatwave) in no small part because of Ramhorn and Ratbat, and Steeljaw was my favorite from last year.

I remember first finding out about the later US and Japanese cassettes (basically everyone after S3), and I was hooked. One reason I liked cassettes going back to a smaller size with WFC and the "they're shields too" bit was that, in theory, they could make more. Official ones have continued to trickle out, thankfully, but I've been following the Dr. Wu stuff to get the rest. I think they're almost done with the official ones, just needing the pair of W Cassettebot pairs. And the official molds have yet to go through all the redecos.

More are always welcome. I'd prefer mainline scale as I can't afford to keep up with Missing Link, but them getting made is them getting made.

For the Dr. Wu stuff, it's just Dile and Zaur that are still missing. They released Noise and Graphy a while back as "Impact Wave". I think those two have probably been the weakest of their releases as individuals, Noise especially, but I still love them and their combined mode is good. I really hope they get to that last pair soon.

On paper, I could get behind any new cassette releases. In practice, though, I was not able/willing to track down the limited Noise/Graphy/Dial/Zaur reissues when they were offered, so there is definitely an upper limit in my head for what is reasonable for a cassette-sized figure.

That said, I like all of these ideas!

Ah, that's right, before the Overkill/Slugfest 2-pack. I think I got those and was underwhelmed by the somewhat loose combination.

I wish I could afford to also get the SG and other decos for these, as they're neat little things. If a bit overengineered-seeming, as is typical of 3P stuff. (The Slugfest/Overkill, the former in particular, is a better balance.) I am seeing the Slamdance pair show up again from a few local sellers, and am tempted (the first pair I got was the pointless non-toy-accurste deco, and it'd be nice to have one I didn't shoddily repaint). But there's no room in the budget, so I'll be content with the one I tweaked the colors on.

I remember that sea turtle! There was another tape that that creator made. I don't remember what it was, maybe a raptor? It might have been fuchsia. In any case, there have been 3rd party alternate tapes before as well. There was a scorpion made that had a TFCon exclusive recolour, and there was a KFC Ramhorn remold as a dairy cow for Dairycon one year.

This is the kind of thing I wish third parties would do if Hasbro won't. Dr. Wu in particular seems like an ideal fit since they've already done a variety of them.

The Dr. Wu cassettes are amazing. I wish Hasbro would come out with some more of their own. Similar to Seekers, I will collect as many cassettes as I can. I love them!
I've been getting the Dr. Wu stuff too. I've gotten his Grand Slam & Raindance, Squawktalk & Beast Box, and Noise & Guraphy. I also just ordered the Slugfest & Overkill set.

IIRC, The scorpion cassette was supposed to be introduced in TF:TM as one of Blaster's forces in one of the other versions of the script.

Still hoping to get a WFC scale Autoscout. Wish Dr Wu had done that as part of that one set with the two-rotor drone, instead of the rover. But there's plenty of room to make one now (I wonder what would go with it).

I want a tape that turns into a motorcycle.
I forget if I saw a Microman one in a specialty store, or a Pocket Power one, or artwork/photos in the Generations mook, but I think this existed. A new one for the humanoid current cassettebots would be nifty.

Wonder if they'll just get around to a standalone Rewind/Eject like what they did with Rumble/Frenzy. Maybe not now that Core is dead.
