Hauler doesn't actually have the same vehicle cartoon model as Grapple:

For a Generations collection, use Earthrise Grapple for Grapple and Solar Storm Grappel for Hauler.

Roadhauler having Grapple’s head really pisses me off.

It pissed me off on the Velocitron release and it still pisses me off now.

He should have the Inferno headsculpt as his G1 E-Hobby release did. Which *yes* if one wishes to be pedantic is the Grapple head but that was pre-anime styling.
I agree with you and hope that he has the Inferno head too.

Yes! First exact thought when going over the Hauler animation model. Angular, similar back half. So one could have Grapple, Hauler, and Roadhauler.

Question for all the MP experts...

CoffeeHorse's pic here made decide to finally take the plunge and buy an MP Prowl.

However, my research seems to indicate that only KOs come with two black launchers. As far as I can tell, the original Japanese release only came with one black launcher (and only if you got it through Amazon). The US release has none. MP-17+ (anime colors) comes with two grey ones (but is also comparatively rarer and more expensive on the secondhand market). So basically the only way to get two black launchers as in the linked pic is either a KO or getting a second launcher from elsewhere, right?

Didn't know that about Prowl (or I forgot; it's been some time). The KO MPs have some surprises, at least for the older ones. KO MP Hot Rodimus has a Matrix, for instance, that the official release doesn't.

I think launchers are available as a pair elsewhere, but again my brain is currently full of useless grad school stuff.

Huh, did he? I have MP17+ and completely forgot he came with any. They must have just went into a parts bag never to be seen again.

Frontpaged.

This is what happens when you dehydrate and replace the water with Mello Yello, I guess.

Read at your own risk. Or don't. I'm not Prowl.

We've been waiting for Blaster ever since they decided to make Nightstalker out of Steeljaw back in... 2017.

So, according to this, the Masterpiece Movie Series line is getting renamed to Masterpiece Movie Next:

The first items of this new line will be, as pictured above, MPMN-01 Sideswipe and MPMN-02 Sideswipe G1 Red.

But.... the red movie Sideswipe was Swerve. So, alternate Swerve head a possible bonus?

Also, that is a LOT of red.

I'm a bit torn on this, as it's basically the SS86 design released in the MP format. That's a bit underwhelming since Optimus, for all the nebulousness of "Style Gen", at least had some interesting bits with a different take on the head and some arm blades -- on top of being evocative of the "clearly Optimus Prime, but distinct from the show model" that was MP-10.

This basically just takes the super faithful SS86 design and does it as is, with the only real new things being a weapons rack (just bring back that "pan on stove" joke about weapons storage I made in the other thread) and a second arm torch, and the reddest main color seen on this design (maybe partly scratching the itch of the canceled Velocitron one, but without the detailing on the boots it misses a trick). Ah, and a windshield that doesn't seem to be blue in the least. I'd be more impressed with the roof colors if the SS86 anniversary release didn't manage it for the roof at least (this one does also avoid the random yellow in the knees).

On the other hand, the SS86 mold set a pretty dang high bar, so I get it. Now, if this is the SS86 design tweaked on an MP budget -- not just for more sprues and paint, but maybe for tweaked engineering in some parts that make them feel less scary to handle and transform? It'd still be a bit underwhelming, but it'd be an improvement on the previous release, so I'd be into that. But who knows how likely that is.

I get it. It's aiming to just be beautiful without worrying about getting the toon colors exactly right. That should be a good thing and this does look nice. The problem is, we don't need a break from Hot Rod's toon colors. 'Sorta toon, but red' has been the default. The new SS86 is more of a novelty than this.
