Proof that, eventually, everything in comics becomes nostalgic.
My hottest Marvel Comics take is that Marvel should have bit the bullet and gone through with having Ben Riley replace Peter as Spider-Man at the end of the Clone Saga. That was the perfect off-ramp to let Peter retire to Long Island or something with MJ and raise their kid. You could still have him pop up to give Ben advise, or even suit up on occasion for a big event, but I think just letting Ben be Spider-Man and letting Peter have some sense of conclusion to his story would have been preferable to what they've done since.
Gets back into wrestling, becomes known as "Long Island Iced P"...
No, wait. That's terrible.
He quits and goes back to being Spider-Man after that.
