She comes with a right gripping hand and a right Spider-Man thwippy hand, and left karate chop hand and left thwippy hand.
Kind of odd choices because I'd have preferred a bit more options.
I think the thwippy hands are supposed to her wolf hand gestures? So that makes sense, but I'd have preferred some relaxed hands too.

The accessory shortfall I really don't like, though, that she only comes with an undeployed Quasar Sabre and a Yellow Quasar Launcher. No Transdaggers and no deployed Quasar Sabre.

Damon, Kai, and Kendrix came with both versions of the Quasar Sabre and the Transdaggers, and Leo got two releases. One with the Launcher and undeployed Sabre, and another release with a deployed Sabre and the Transdaggers. So Maya is left as the one Galaxy Ranger who can't be displayed with a full Quasar Sabre.

Like, yeah, Leo had that limitation in his first release but again, he got two to fill out the missing accessories. Maya was one of the last Lightning Collection releases before Hasbro put a bullet in the franchise, so we'll probably never get another release to even out her missing weapons.

Lost Galaxy is one of my favourite PR series, and Maya is my favourite character from it... so on one hand I'm happy she got a figure at all... but man. If they had make a choice about which version to cut before the line died, I wish they'd have chosen to give us the fully deployed Quasar Sabre and Transdaggers. At least then you could pose the team with uniform weapons layouts. As it is you can't.

I wish I could say any of this surprises me.

And hell yeah, Lost Galaxy. One of my favorites, too. Helped inspire some of my stuff.

Hasbro's usual WTFery was in hyperdrive with Lightning Collection stuff. Half of the MMPR releases would come with Blade Blasters detailed with silver, the other half with Blade Blasters detailed with white.
Some MMPR Rangers got detailing painted on their Morphers, some didn't. Some got all three forms of Blade Blasters, some didn't. In addition to the after-mentioned detailing inconsistencies.

Lost Galaxy had a pretty diverse weapons layout, so I kinda get it, two versions of the Quasar Sabres each, Transdaggers, and a Launcher? That's a lot... but honestly, they could have given everyone the same layout of Dagger, deployed Sabre, and undeployed Sabre if they'd just not done the Launchers.
Not only did they only end up doing two anyway, but I'd reckon that if you ask Lost Galaxy fans, the Launchers would be the consensus on what weapons we'd be ok with leaving out.

Like... maybe I'm out to lunch, but I love the series and to me the Sabres and Daggers are the iconic choices. I don't think any Lost Galaxy line should start considering alternate weapons until you make sure everyone has both versions of the Sabre and the Daggers.

And then they didn't even give the Magna Defender an unhelmeted Mike head... so if you wanted to display the full team with civilian heads lol too bad.

I genuinely did enjoy Lightning Collection when Hasbro was still trying with it, it's probably my favourite retail market PR line in terms of aesthetics and scale, but Hasbro made some baffling choices about consistency even among single teams with it.

I hated missing out, but now, maybe not so much.

This was one I was hoping to get anyway. LOVE Magna Defender.

Though as far as unhelmeted Mike goes, I don't think he ever appeared that way in the show, did he? It was either completely morphed or unmorphed.

I honestly don't think it's worth it with aftermarket prices. Once Hasbro basically said it was done with the brand, those skyrocketed. Kind of like how art appreciates after an artist dies 🤣

So you have everything going for more than it should, and all of that for a line where some teams never got completed and the ones that did all have weird Hasbro decisions that keep things from being as uniformed as you'd like them to be.

Honestly? If you're just looking for a good collector oriented PR line? I think Playmates' MMRP collector figures are due out soon.
Prices on those should be much more reasonable, and if it's successful enough maybe they expand it beyond MMPR.

I will say that the Lightning Collection Magna Defender is easily one of the better ones. There are really no issues with everything that's included safe for the lack of a Mike head. He gets both modes for his weapon, and the sculpt and paint is all everything it needs to be.

I don't think he did either, but the rest of the team comes with civilian heads so if you're so inclined to display them like that, the Magna Defender is the odd one out.

Thing is Hasbro justified the lack of a Mike head not by saying "well he never took the helmet off while morphed" but by saying "oh this toy is of the first version of the Magna Defender, where he just looked like that!"

Which is fine, but it reminds me of when Hasbro said the reason Legacy Minerva wasn't a Headmaster was because she lost the ability when she jumped though the Legacy portal.

Like... whatever you gotta do, Hasbro. Whatever you gotta do.
