So, hey, know how we all thought Fantastic Four wasn’t going to get any kids toys? Turns out…they ARE! Just WAY late for a movie tie in…
Official images are going out for a small slate of Epic Heroes products:
Marvel’s First Family- A set of what would have likely been the single card Epic Hero toys, featuring all 4 members. Reed gets a stretchy arm, Johnny’s on fire with a fire blast, Sue is invisible with a shield effect, and the Thing has a shirt and is big (probably would have been a deluxe release). Also included are Franklin and HERBIE, with one or both likely to have ended up exclusive to this box set had the others been released individually.

Fantasticar with Thing- Features their car with a Thing figure without his shirt. The figure Co-sell on the back point to the box set being the only avenue to get the other figures. Nifty to note that it DOES have a support stand for Human Torch

Titan Series 14” Galactus- Similar to the Sentinel from the X-Men range, this one features VASTLY more articulation (on par with the smaller figures).

Not a bad slate, aside from the usual shortcuts Epic World seems to take. Like prior tie ins, it’s missing a key character in the Silver Surfer, and it would have been nice to see at least ONE of the Thing figures sport the “rock beard” just for a little variety.
Probably the biggest WTF, though, is how LATE these are arriving. The film will be on streaming in a couple months, if that. Peak marketing for the film was almost two months ago. It’s highly curious to see Hasbro THIS out of step, unless they just didn’t view the film as being worth getting kids stuff out with release, opting to leverage Christmas build up. Which, if accurate, is a troubling direction to have at the management level, IMO. Or maybe a troubling direction for the market if Hasbro feels it needs to make that decision.
