Lego and other brick toys

So I found the newest minifig collection. Got the Cupid, the Steampunk Inventor, the Boogeyman, and the Jetpack guy. Really want the hunter with the wolf, but apparently he's the next big thing. Found an entire case at my local walmart only to find someone picked all the hunters out. Left literally everything, but took the wolf guy.
I'm actually annoyed by this.

Yeah, the wolfpack torso shows up on pick a brick sometimes, but sells out immediately. I think there's a new wolfpack castle set coming from Ideas soon too, so they're coming back a bit?

I will admit, with the Space minfigs a couple waves back, I bought at least one of each, but I did get multiples of the Ice Planet and M-Tron figures. Ice Planet in particular was "my era", and I have several builds that I want to populate with more figures. I'm not reselling them though; I'm not really fond of people who cherry-pick CMFs just to resell.
For that matter, I'm not super-happy with the whole CMF system; I'd rather Lego just bring back figure packs like they had back when Ice Planet was an active Theme...

They should just have all the CMF parts available on pick a brick, maybe some time after the blind bags come out.

I think lego should start cycling in older figures from older series. Maybe make series 30 the 'best of' series 1,2, and 3.

JUST to tank any value the figures or their pieces have on the secondary market.

The value of their figures and pieces on the secondary market makes the things on the shelves now more desirable. They don't want to tank their value.

So I've decided to do some more Lego collecting, but with a bit of specificity.
I bought a set a while back and really liked it and, after thinking about things, decided I wanted more like it. That set was the burger truck. It's just so much fun. So, after thinking and looking at things, I've decided to start collecting mobile food vehicle lego sets. I got the penguin slushie truck and today I found and picked up the donut truck. I'm going to get the ice cream truck from Amazon next payday. I just can't bring myself to pay 70 bucks for the pizza truck, though.
Still, for a little, very specialized collection, I like it. It's fun.

Speaking of desirable minifigures:
The included Blacktron figure has leg printing and the Blacktron Triforce emblem on the leg and torso. $40 for the book, though, oof.

IDK, I get the "why" of CMFs, but some of the figures over the years have been clearly desirable to have multiples of, and it would be nice if Lego would release figure packs that relieve some of that demand. Particularly with figures that fit in Legacy themes such as Space or Castle.

Also, it would be nice if they would finish the CMF Sentai team. The Red Minifig Ranger is getting lonely...

According to videos on the youtubes, the GWP for the Enterprise-D is a shuttlepod with Ro Laren, and a Black Friday 2025 exclusive. This of course means that it will exist for approximately three seconds before selling out forever and being scalped for hundreds on evilbay.

I feel like there have been some food trucks in the Friends theme you might look into. (Though they may be out of production, i don't follow Friends until they hit clearance. There's kind of a rotation though, so if they aren't currently offered, they may come back around to some.) The minidolls are still minifigure scale, so even if you just want minifigures in your collection, there might be some unique colors or foods you could add to the fleet, and just substitute in some appropriate minifigures.

EDIT: these are new this year:

And these are 2024 sets that will be rotating out but may still be available (possibly even on clearance):

I'm making the deliberate choice not to collect the Friends line. Nothing wrong with them, I'd just prefer to stick to City. I like that aesthetic better.
