King Of The Hill returns

The Hills had been living in Saudi Arabia.

Bullshit, Hank Rutherford Hill would never move out of the United States of America.

Unless Buck told him to, of course.

Saudi Arabia is like the #1 producer of Propane and he's said to have been on an Aramco base, which is basically the most idealized American white picket fence society you can get.

Aside from all the women being required by law to wear burqas, I suppose.

Honestly, that sounds like it would have made for a more interesting new direction to take the show, rather than something that gets brought up as part of their backstory and then never mentioned again. To quote Ben Croshaw for the second time just this afternoon, "Is this the most interesting moment in your character's life? If not, why aren't you telling that story?"

In the first case, that sounds like an improvement where Peggy's concerned :p

In the second: Becuase 1. That's require abandoning all the other characters the series is known for. 2. The series is in part about Hank's sorta 'culture shock' of how much the USA has changed over the years. 3. KOTH has never been about "the most interesting moment" in anyone's stories. Its mostly about exploring suburban life, and in this case how that life has changed from what it used to be to what it is now. 4. Considering that one of the new characters is "Muhammad", likely the new guy seen in this opening, the backstory probably isn't "never mentioned again" and another thing KOTH didn't shy away from was flashbacks to the characters' past.

One thing is for sure. Peggy will 100% come back swearing that she is now fluent in Arabic.

Cautiously optimistic for this one. I love King of the Hill, so hopefully the new shows are the same quality as the classics.

Oh, is there more info out there outside of the trailer? I hadn't seen anything else. Got a link? I'd like to check it out, show my wife.

Oh yeah and since this is the King of the Hill revival thread, I imagine y'all have already heard the news but if you hadn't: Jonathan Joss, who voiced John Redcorn, was murdered by his neighbor a few days ago in what Joss's husband described as being a homophobic hate crime.

So horrible and tragic, especially when you learn all the jive he had been through in recent years (he had previously lost his house and three of his dogs in a fire back in January) and the fact that he had only married his husband this past Valentine's Day.

Rest in peace.

Thanks, and I heard about what happened, but not all the rest.

Absolutely abhorrent.

On some level, part of me wishes they could somehow use this in the show, bring more awareness to the crap people are going through for no good reason, but... well, I don't know that it would work with his character, and as an actor, I don't know that he'd want that.

At least they apparently got the guy. Might've been nice if someone else got them first.

Wel, it's a hate crime in Texas, so I am sure that he will get the death penalty.

I really don't understand that place.

Also, wow, I'd forgotten that Luanne's voice died, too.

I wonder if they're going to try to keep using any of these characters with new voices, or use the time skip to write them off.

Its been mentioned, iirc, that Lucky and Luanne moved at some point between series. Though they've not been written off completely as it sounds like there's still gonna have some kinda presence in the show, even if its just second or third hand.
