Bloody Terrible Combiner Ports.png

Just got a blue/black/gold/grey lion that seems colour-coordinated with Rexblade. It's even got the same red and green details and metallic blue leaf thingy.

However, I can't recommend Rexblade. The arm/shoulder (and dinosaur feet) combined ports fall apart if you breath on them (plus the arm ports retract into the wheels extremely easily and need lots of work to get them back out and combined) and the arms aren't really that poseable too.

This Japanese language review goes into these problems (and the dangers of little kids hurting their fingers to get the arms re-attached, etc) here:

Btw, Wild King uses a number of "proprietary" ports, including a single 5mm peg/hole with an extra bit sticking out. This makes it impossible for most other TFs to hold the weapons (but not impossible for regular 5mm weapons to fit into the proprietary ports). However, if we cut and file away the additional part, they can be used by other TFs/regular 5mm ports.

(Left: Yellow 5mm peg, with extra "ridge" still attached. Right: Blue 5mm peg, with the ridge removed).

"Combined" (ahem) with Combiner Wars feet and hands (for example), it's then possible to turn the normally static combiner arms and give them poseable elbows and actual hands (and possibly feet, but I haven't tried this yet).

Rexblade's combined boxed set cost allot ¥6,000, which might be cheaper than Amazon Japan (which had it for about ¥9,000 last time I looked).
