Well that was short lived.

Yeah you might have noticed I haven't been playing. Turns out a co-worker is taking a leave of absence that I'm hearing will keep them out till January.

He was the Friday closer, so... looks like I'm back to closing. This means when I get home it'll be too late for me to try for any gaming.

Oh well.

I saw that discotek is re-releasing the MegaMan Cartoon on blu ray. This time with a ton of extras, meaning I will absolutely have to pick up a copy.

However it mentions fixing the speed of the first episode and how it's been properly released at the correct speed for the first time in years.

It makes me wonder if the release I have is properly timed. I have the ADV kids release that came out I think back in like the early 2000s. Far as I know the episode seemed to be running correctly. I didn't notice anything weird when watching it.

Nor did I, but they mentioned that the length was closer to 26 minutes rather than the 22 it should be, so you can probably tell from that?

This bites but I missed my chance to get the first three Timeline titles :( I have to see if I can find copies somehow.

I got Switch Megaman X Legacy collection 1 and 2 and 2 is a download? Dang.

I had owned x1 to x6 but never finished x6. Played x7 but never the whole thing. X8 I finished too.

Gosh dang the double boss challenges are rough.

Also have Megaman Zero /ZX legacy collection and never played any of it.

I think I'll start with finishing that first.

I keep hearing eBay is the way if you're outside North America, but UDON Store has them if you're within.

Yeah, that's why I only have that version digitally, and bought the physical on Xbox.

X6 is rough. Just use the Ultimate Armor code. That helps accommodate for most of the rough edges. (I've done it without, but I don't like to.)

X7 is... X7. I never finished it, either.

X8 is good! Not all of it (damn vehicle levels), but mostly good!

Yeah, the way the weapons were set up, I couldn't really get a good enough feel to do them.

As long as you're not worried about story chronology, sure! Go for it!

Don't be afraid to use Casual Scenario Mode, though, unless you're really trying to prove something.

I'm totally doing casual on Megaman Zero 1, yeah! Him slicing up the bosses is brutal.

I enjoy the double boss thing because I'm desperately trying to remember the weakness. I KNOW Neon Tiger is weak to the Spinning blade things but I'm fuzzy on Spiral Pegasus. I think I have to beat Pegasus first to stand a chance.

The comic store is trying to re order the Timeline issues I missed. Fingers crossed. I really should have been more vigilant.

I hate it when game developers go: "Hey we know doing this is going to be a major pain in the butt, so of COURSE we have to make that a trophy!"

I know it's supposed to be possible to dodge the lasers in Zero Stage 1, but man do I not want to do this.

Not wanting to have to focus on that stupid trophy. (If I wasn't trying for the Platinum, I wouldn't bother with this stupid task, believe me)

I decided to try for another trophy. The "out of the frying pan" one which is basically: "destroy the colony with the laser"

Being the game has stupid RNG, this isn't easy to do. The best strat is to just play the first level of the game and immediantly after being able to fire the canon, do so. Took about seven tries, but it finally triggered. I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen this cut scene before. I always had to finish it off with the shuttle (and to state how bad my luck was for the main session I was playing. I didn't do it with the shuttle either. I'm on the path to the bad ending where Zero goes Maverick, but I do need to beat the game with that to get a trophy soo....)

However, having finally seen the laser work I can tell you a sure tell sign if you got it. If you FAIL you'll see a picture of the laser hitting the station and basically stopping at its side.

If you've succeeded, you'll get a pic of the laser actually going THROUGH the station. This is the indicator that you did it! (And again it's the first time I've ever seen this picture!)

I did not know this!

I did, however, know you can destroy the colony immediately, because I did that the very first time I played, and it worked!

As a result, it was a while before I even knew you could fail at it! 😹
