Yabba Dabba DOO! They're the modern stone-age pony family!

Let the sunshine in! It's time for...

So, how is it?

Well, first off, it's just kind of nice to know that this won't be the final issue of My Little Pony ever. We WILL still be getting at least 4 more one-shots in 2025. We don't know what comes after that, or if anything will. But, there WILL be more pony in the future. And that's good news!

As for this issue itself, it's good. I'm still not sure why they felt the need to fast-track this comic so much that they ended up combining 5 issues into 3. But, it really doesn't effect the reading experience too much, since you're basically just reading mini-trades at this point.

What DOES effect the reading experience is the changing art. We still have two different artists doing the two issues they combined together for this. And while I do still feel like Kate Sherron's artwork is improving, when you have it right next to Andy Price's artwork, the effect is a little distracting. I do like Andy Price's parts of this more. But, the other half is at least solid enough to carry things along.

And this is a good ending to this miniseries. We get a few surprise cameos. It's a fun time. And it ends on a good note.

So, yeah, I think I recommend this. It's not the grand finale of the MLP comics, but it could have been. It's good enough to be that. The split on art duties is unfortunate, but it's acceptable once you get used to it. It's not my absolute favorite G5 comic, but it is a good one.

"Weet! Weet! Weet!" Yes, we get it, clouds are very wet. You really shouldn't keep animals up there. They get all damp and soggy.

These ponies end up around trash more often than you would expect. 200 year old bananas. *Shudders*

Pipp used Sing! It's super effective!

"These cute little pincushions are everywhere!" Except, oddly enough, at the pincushion store...

So, Sunny solves this problem by doing what comes naturally to her...giving away smoothies. Because somehow there's fresh fruit up in this cloud city that's been lost for 200 years. Don't question it. Honestly the Arken Sonneys are more polite customers than Posey and Dahlia during the noon rush.

"Oh no mommy, the fire! What do we do?" We do what we always do when times get rough, little one...panic and run! Panic and run!

Izzy with a blowtorch...it's always a sight to see.

Misty learned how to use technobabble! Our girl has come a long way! Somehow....offscreen...when did she learn how to make a zeppelin engine, again?

Ah, yes, music and smoothies calm the savage beast, as the old saying goes. Dinner and a show, these little guys have it pretty good.

Great. there's a Thunderbird nest in the Cloud Factory engine room. Golly....imagine all the gunk in the gears that have accumulated over the years. This bird's got a cool design. I WOULD catch this Pokemon.

Everyone's a critic.

Apparently, if you sing to it, a Thunderbird will just let you carry it's nest and all it's babies outside on your back. Isn't nature fascinating?

"Misty, I need more power!" MORE POWER?! Where's that Binford Toolbox from last issue when you need it?

*SUDDEN ART CHANGE* Goodness, this storm is so fierce it blew us into a completely different art style!

"If we get hit by lightning, we'll probably crash" Misty, you're in a gas-filled zeppelin. You'll be too busy exploding to crash! So...sorta good news?

"Look down on the little ponies...literally for a change" Even the observation viewers have a attitude in this town.

"You can't take the blame for everything that happens!" "I can and I will" You heard it here, folks! It's Zipp's fault that G5 got cancelled!

"Our whole lives, whenever she gets a big idea, she just rushes off like that" The worst times are when she gets ideas in the shower. We end up with soggy carpets for weeks.

"A sign. I got a sign." And it opened up her eyes, she saw the sign.

The Wonderbolts Hall of Fame! Huh...funny we didn't notice that building before. It's the size of a Football stadium!

Okay, Zipp acts like she's never even heard of the Wonderbolts before. I feel like SOMETHING has mentioned them before, but I guess I can't think of what. So...you win this round, iffy continuity.

They even have a Shadowbolts uniform, somehow? I guess it must be the one that Rainbow Dash wore for a Nightmare Night costume. I don't know why it's in a museum, but whatever.

Pinkie Pie's Rainbow Helicopter?!

And a pink Star Trek shuttle?! What dimension-hopping adventures did the G4 crew get up to between the end of their show and the start of this one?!

"Tweny Percent Cooler!" You're 20% off on that spelling.

"That's RAINBOW DASH!" Oh no, Zipp's gone FULL Ren & Stimpy. And she's choking Pipp.

Aww...sleepy Flutters. She's so cute, I can even forgive her letting Applejack and Rarity fall to their doom.

We all live in a pink submarine. Wait...why does a Wonderbolt Academy even HAVE a submarine?

A Black Lightning-inspired Wonderbolt outfit?

"Replica Uniforms on Sale! No need to take the real ones!" NOW you tell her!

*GO HURRY GO FAST ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM GO FAST* Best sound effect in the comic.

Wonderbolt Zipp! A special one-off SDCC exclusive figure!

"Glue-Nopony You Knew Brand" Oof, that's a dark joke.

Heh...the blow up Autopilot from Airplane!

This looks like a job for Supermare! Unfortunately, Supermare is previously engaged in a battlefield in Mares, so Zipp will just have to do.

"Queen Zipp!" "They're cheering for me!" She's so touched she's pulling a Charlie Brown smile! I would think she'd be freaked out by the "Queen" part, but she seems fine with it. *Snff* They grow up so fast!

We've got your back, Fox! I mean, Zipp!

"I think I'm mostly busting these clouds with vibes" Pipp's whole body hums with a awesome power!

Hey, at least the zeppelin didn't explode, I'd call that a win. Even though it's going down like...a Lead Zeppelin *YEAAH!*

Zipp does a Sonic Rainboom! I..don't know how that helps with a falling zeppelin, really. But, it's cool!

Okay, maybe Zipp actually IS Supermare, she just cushioned the landing of a falling zeppelin with her bare hooves. And she walks away with just a bump on the head. This girl's made of adamantium!

"No patient found...and we're back" It's good to know the hospital monitors in this world have a sense of humor.

"Machine that goes bing...BING" Heh. Monty Python, too, I see.

How many daughters can your queen lift?

Goose! He is remembered!

Heh. All of the Rainbow Dash Hologram buttons are labeled with actual G4 episode titles. Cute.

And we get a goodbye message from Rainbow Dash from RIGHT before Twilight sealed the magic away. Kind of touching, if abrupt and brief.

We even get a "Thanks for reading for 3 years" message from the makers of the book. So, I think they WERE preparing this to be the final IDW MLP comic. At least at some stage of making this. I'm glad it's not quite over, but this does feel like they were preparing for the possibility.
