Well, I'll be at work when the Direct hits, but I can't wait to see it tonight. It's going to take a lot of self control to dodge spoilers.

At this stage, I'm exceedingly "whelmed". It looks nice...but like StarFox, it's just the same N64 game with a fresh coat of paint. At least with Final Fantasy 7, they actually told the game narrative with new gameplay structures. It's like, you've spent millions to redevelop the SAME game, where as you could have told a new story or approach the old one in a completely new way. And it's not like it's hard to play the original, between the NUMEROUS rereleases and digital availability.
My opinion may change once more of the game is revealed, but it's not something that is currently pushing me to a Switch 2 (especially with Nintendo being greedy jerks and not bothering to include the game with the Anniversary Edition console).

Sad that the film trailer wasn't dropped, even though it's obvious that the snippet shown was likely FROM a teaser trailer of some sort.

I just watched the game trailer. I can watch the rest later, but Nov. 15 is good. I'll definitely be going to GameStop tonight. Definitely want to lock in that foil cover!

Some observations I noticed:
Castle Town doesn't appear to have been expanded. Just made more detailed.

And, yes, there is some voice acting in the game like in the Wilds games.

Zelda Notes will have features for OOT, including "Today's Record", "Gossip Quests", "Play Ocarina", "Ocarina of Time Quiz", and more.

Amiibos of Young Link and Young Zelda unlock masks of their faces that can be worn in-game. The masks look like their classic game faces.

In the trailer, Lon Lon Ranch looks to no longer be on a significantly higher elevation than the rest of Hyrule Field, and no longer surrounded by large rock formations.

The area around Gerudo Fortress now looks more like a proper settlement rather than a purely utilitarian stronghold hidden in a remote, unsettled area.

Saria's voice sounds like Kate Higgins (TOTK Purah) to me, while Ganondorf sounds like Matt Mercer again.

The layout of Kakariko Village has been rearranged somewhat, with several of the houses moved around to different placements and angles. The designs of some of the houses also look unrecognizable.

Mido's name is pronounced correctly by the Direct announcer voice as "Mee-doh", giving me hope it'll be said correctly in the game's English version (so many English-speakers mispronounce his name as "My-doh" instead).

The Great Fairy looks pretty much identical to her Hyrule Warriors 1 game model.

The concert at the beginning was a nice touch.

The movie is coming on April 30! No subtitle, which...I understand, but I would have preferred if it did have one. Apparently, there's a story reason for the lack of subtitle, but I feel like it's REALLY because they don't want to confuse general audiences into thinking THIS is a sequel. Maybe they actually are focusing on the "Legend" part of the title, and there's actually going to be different "interpretations" of the story or different parts of the timeline coming into play?

The Nintendo Museum in Japan is getting some new Zelda-themed exhibits. Neat. I'll never get to see them. But, still, neat. A history board is...not the most exciting thing, ever. But, that Link statue in the cafeteria is fun. Plus, more Pikmin cameos! Cute.

And...more news on the movie will be shared on the App. So, we're getting news about getting more news later, in a proprietary app. That's...modern marketing in a nutshell, I guess.

New Amiibo! And a playable AND a electric Ocarina! We get a glimpse of the new action figures. And a sword and shield display piece. Neat!

We're getting a series of 40th Anniversary Live Concerts. Mostly in Japan, but also in Chicago in the US, and London in the UK, and Melbourne in Australia. Neat! Again, I'll probably never go to one in person, but it's nice that they exist.

Oh, we're actually getting some gameplay for the new Ocarina of Time remake! It sounds like it's a faithful remake. And it looks...a little "busy" for my liking? And a little darker overall. The new artstyle might take some getting used to, for me.

Also, you have the amazing power...to JUMP! This is showing off some VERY basic stuff.

There seems to less loading screens than before, but still a few, like when you go into dungeons.

I do wish the game was a little "brighter". Some of the detail feels like it gets lost due to the color palette being more black on brown on grey. But, it is what it is.

Oh, boo, they skipped showing off the boss of the Deku Tree. C'mon! If you're going to show off a lot, you might as well show off that, too.

They claim they "intentionally" left in the loading screens to "preserve the essence of the game". Sure. Whatever you need to tell yourselves.

There's a new "Threads of Time" feature that will list off your missions and objectives. Neat!

You can also dash! Which should help speed things up a little.

Time still passes, even when you're in town, now. So much for "preserving the essence of the game", huh?

You can also hum the Ocarina sounds yourself to make them play in the game. Or you can use the actual ocarina that they're going to be selling. That's kinda fun! Even though, it'll be a real shame for anyone who's tone deaf or just plain bad at playing instruments...like me! I can already see the potential for SO MANY weird videos online exploiting this. Who's going to be the first person to post a video of their dog howling to the tune of these songs?

And there IS more voice acting...during cutscenes. Which probably won't be a lot, but it's nice that there's more than just a few grunts.

And it's coming out this November 5! That's pretty soon! Cool!

And there's going to be a Zelda Notes app for this game, just like with the Switch 2 ports. Neat...I guess.

You have to pay in-game rupees to re-try the quizzes? Why?! Who benefits from that?

Even MORE Amiibo! And you get special masks for using them. Cute...I guess.

And there's going to be a special Swtich 2 designed after Zelda! Classy! I do like the look of it. That Triforce dock is just nice! There's a themed pro controller and case, too, nice! And...the scalpers already have ALL of them. Have fun getting one for ten times the price on ebay. (I kid...hopefully.) It'll be out October 29, so before the game comes out. And...it doesn't actually include the game with it. That's a weird choice. You'd think they'd bundle it. But, nope. Nintendo wants ALL your money. Or the scalper's money. They ain't picky.

Okay, the trailer at the end is showing off more areas and some bosses. Criticism rescinded. Some of these areas do look pretty cool in HD.

Also...the game features textured foil box art, while supplies last! Oooh...fancy!

So, yeah, this is sure Ocarina of Time. Just with a few more modern mechanics and interfaces thrown in. It's about what I expected. Even though, I was personally hoping for more of a Final Fantasy VII Remake-style "reimagination" of the story, but that was pretty baseless. This seems to be a more "Star Fox remake" situation. The same game, just with more detailed textures.

...This MIGHT be a pass, for me. We'll see. But, it just isn't exciting me, personally. It's just the same game, in a different art style. That could change.

How expanded remains to be seen, but if there are new areas that previously only been backdrops then it is expanded to at least some degree.

We can see the full map of Castle Town in the bottom-right corner of the screen. It's the same layout.

What they meant by "backdrops" they were referring to the buildings that were just 2D textures in the N64 version but are now fully 3D rendered objects this time around (like they also were in the 3DS version but now have even more depth to them since the camera is no longer in a fixed position).

So, that was cool. I never played the original game, so this will be great to try out.

I will be honest, I am really thinking of pre-ordering that Zelda Switch 2 and hiding it for two months for the kids' Christmas present. Since it comes out a week or so before the remake is released, I am guessing that it doesn't come with any games.

Correct. They are selling the Zelda Switch 2 separately from the game.

The Master Sword replica shown on the Hasbro slide alongside the upcoming Heroes of Hyrule figures is going up for preorder on Pulse tomorrow at 1PM EDT. Looks like it won't be nearly as nice as the Proplica Master Sword, but is also a fifth of the price at $40. How weird is it that a 27" electronic sword costs less than a Ganondorf action figure? o_O

Fair enough. I never played the original so I wasn't aware that was the entire map.

Where could one find a preorder for the Zelda edition of the Switch 2? I haven't been able to find an actual store page anywhere yet.

I never owned an N64. By the time I had a way to play it, I was into other series and it felt antiquated.

I do plan on buying this, so.

There were other post-N64 platforms to play it on.

Same here. I didn't get a N64 until September 2005. Got a used Jungle green with the controller from EB games along with a Dreamcast for $40 total.
