He-Man, and also the Masters of the Universe

Anyway, as for the rest: I know oldschool fans would hate it, but maybe they should make a new He-Man that combines stuff that's popular today.
Do we REALLY trust modern-day toy executives enough to give them that power?

Just imagine....

Adam now transforms into He-Man via TikTok Dances!

Swords are passe! He-Man now fights with a giant fidget spinner!

Teela is now a gamer girl who controls a holographic robot avatar to fight for her and never leaves her room!

Skeletor is now a evil Businessman-Politician who's trying to steal everyone's data to use in his polluting AI factories! "Your search history will be mine, He-Man!"

Orko now communicates exclusively via emojis and brainrot memes!

Cringer is now a animatronic that gets transformed into a horror-themed Battle-Cat to get in on that hot Five Nights At Freddy's hype!

Introducing everyone's favorite new character....Bibidi Bidet!

He-Man was raised by a tribe of friendly Labubus who taught him their ways!

You say that like its bad thing, here's a character from Dead Account:

Skeletor is now a evil Businessman-Politician who's trying to steal everyone's data to use in his polluting AI factories! "Your search history will be mine, He-Man!"

The RL ones are laready SatAM villians, this isnt going to be a big a change as you think it is.

Orko now communicates exclusively via emojis and brainrot memes!

You're not far off from Ork-0 from Netflix He-Man:

Cringer is now a animatronic that gets transformed into a horror-themed Battle-Cat to get in on that hot Five Nights At Freddy's hype!

This is the only one that doesn't have some precedence that I can find easily.

Introducing everyone's favorite new character....Bibidi Bidet!

And he'd stick out from the other weird ideas that are Masterverse Characters, how?

He-Man was raised by a tribe of friendly Labubus who taught him their ways!

Again, Netflix He-Man.

...You know, it's really hard to find new ways to parody a franchise that's been around as long and has tried as many things as He-Man has, isn't it?

I've been doing it for a while, but I also have very low standards for quality.

Sometimes I bring in guest stars.

The hunt for Moss Man really taxed my patience, a friend found one for me, thankfully.

I thought the 3d Netflix series was a pretty decent entry point for modern kids. Too bad it got cut short.

Same! And agreed!

Also, I think the movie might have paid some homage to it...

The way the fights were paired off at the end pretty much matched up with that version: He-Man and Skeletor, Teela and Evil-Lyn, Man-at-Arms and Trap-Jaw, and Cringer and Beast Man. Only one missing was Ram Man, who was preoccupied elsewhere.

Do we REALLY trust modern-day toy executives enough to give them that power?

Executives? No.

People like the toy designers who created He-Man in the first place? Well, at least that's more of a "maybe".

Skeletor is now a evil Businessman-Politician who's trying to steal everyone's data to use in his polluting AI factories! "Your search history will be mine, He-Man!"

Here we have what is likely the absolute best movie they can make, the movie we more or less wanted back in the 80s rather then the Dolph Lundrend one

...

I like the 1987 one.

I'm not the biggest He-Man fan so maybe I'm the wrong person to judge, but I like that one, mainly for Frank Langella. It's so inescapably obvious that he enjoyed the role. He didn't think he was too good for a toy commercial. He wanted to make a movie his kid would like, and thought his kid deserved for the movie to be good, so he put some actual heart into it, and that sincerity is badly missed today. There comes a time when a movie needs to drop the "Yeah, we know this is silly too, wink wink" stuff and just play it straight. Sincere enthusiasm is contagious. Embarrassment is too.

New Motu Origins toys going up on Target this morning at 8 Central/9 Eastern.

Movie Origins
Man-At-Arms
Tri-Clops
And a Moss Man/Ram Man 2-Pack

And also Non-Movie Sketchbook Skeletor.

Origins is absolutely my Jam and what I buy for MotU. In theory I want all of these eventually but if I snag the Skeletor that's all I really need this morning.

-ZacWilliam, the others can wait till I see if they hit stores
