Okay, got this a few days ago and completely forgot to post this.

And out of the box.

And comparison.

Honestly, out of the original concept art toys I've seen so far, this is probably the closest I've seen to the final design.

Part of me does worry about how much of this movie will be taking place on Earth. Because that is cheaper to film. But, it doesn't look like it's too much. Hopefully, they keep it to a half-hour max.

I guess it's not the 80s? I feel like the 80s would have been more fun, and would have fit the whole "corporate culture" thing just as well, but oh well.

But, everything on Eternia is looking pretty good. Skeletor looks good, so I'm probably sold. I DO still want to hear what voice they're going to use for him. But, this all looks on point. Zoar, Beast Man, Evil-Lyn all looking good! Castle Grayskull looks great! Design-wise, I really can't complain.

And the guy playing He-Man has the look down pat. But, I'm not totally sold on the voice. That "I have the power!" doesn't have the bass I'd like it to have. Or maybe it needs some music behind it? But, that's a pretty minor nitpick.

I'm liking what I'm seeing! It's looking like a lot of fun!

About 20 minutes is what I've been hearing for the time spent on Earth.

Anyway, the trailer - if I'm being honest, it kinda looks like a generic action movie that they shoveled MOTU characters into.

I'm at least more than willing to give it a shot. So many internet trolls are already digging that everything isn't 1:1 with Filmation designs or that Teela's legs aren't bare etc. About the only thing that concerns me that they are saying. Where's Orko?

Where's Orko?
Given how Orko's been treated in the past, part of me wonders if they'll give him the full "Scrappy Doo"treatment?

...I mean, they already did in the comics from a few years over a decade ago. I could see that happening again.

Sequel hook?

It...has potential. If I'm 100% honest, it looks like it could be another one of those 50% sparkly glamour, 50% cheeky one-liners, 0% depth popcorn flicks.

BUT, it also looks like they're going to have more guts than the Dolf Lundgren movie by actually making characters look like what they're supposed to look like.

They have my curiosity, but I'm going to need more before they have my attention.

I'd say the options for end credits stinger are:

1) She-Ra/Adora
2) Hordak
3) King Hiss
4) Orko , if he isn't in the rest
5) Faker

I like the trailer. Would see the film just for the visuals we got in this trailer honestly.

I actually liked how they did Orko in Revelations. I didn't see the sequel, but it appeared that not only had he gotten a great confidence boost, he also scared the hell out of Scare Glow, beating him TWICE, once when in bad shape from long illness, once after actually DYING. If that's not taking a level in bad-ass...

I was optimistic after hearing Travis Knight’s name attached. After seeing the trailer? I feel that faith is justified. Is it 100% Filmation? No, but neither was the Transformers film (2007 OR Bumblebee) a 100% recreation of the cartoon. But, at least on a visual level, the people involved seemed to actually “get” the material. Script is still up in the air, but again, Knight’s resume points to that likely being decent.

The question remains if the film can carve out a spot for itself in the crowded summer market. I’m HOPING that a fun fantasy/scifi adventure (not dissimilar to Thor Ragnarok) can break through a market HEAVILY crowded with sequels and/or remakes. With so many fantasy films skewing to the grim dark “Game of Thrones/Witcher” style or the heavy family friendly side, MOTU can slide down the middle and find success.
My feeling is that, regardless its financial performance, it will not ultimately come down to the quality of the film itself (like Bumblebee)

For the first trailer, looks fun! I'm sitting on basically two questions - of course, yeah, tempered by it being...y'know, the first trailer, where's Orko? And two, definitely need to hear Skeletor's voice.
