This morning, Hasbro and Mattel unveiled the new Hot Wheels Transformers Bumblebee collaboration that delivers on all fronts! The new collectible is a Bumblebee based on the G1 version, and styled with a touch of Hot Wheels flair. The Hot Wheels Transformers Bumblebee will be available at Mattel Creations beginning September 17 for $65. Hot Wheels and Transformers are back at it with the third 1:64 collaboration that delivers on all fronts: a Bumblebee based on the G1 version, and styled with a touch of Hot Wheels flair. The skilled scout and spy is rolling undercover in a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle body, with a weathered paint finish and Real Riders wheels. When it's time for action, it transforms into a robot with 13 points of articulation. Not getting your hands on one of these sure would sting!

100% real talk here, if that was some sort of $5 or $10 thing, I would buy it because it's adorably awful, but I'm guessing this will actually be shockingly expensive, so his "at least he tried" look looses all of it's appeal.

-and had clearly had let themselves go in their time away from the spotlight.

(which was Comic Con, wasn't it? Dang, that was quick...)

Edit: Dang...Predaking wasn't joking, you really CAN get three Bumblebees for that. And it strikes me as odd, as I had several GoBots back in the day with varying amounts of die-cast, they seemed to be better worked out, and that was with 1980's toy tech. Plus we know Hot Wheels and Hasbro have worked together before on carformers with very good results, so this is rather confusing.

Yeah, there's a novelty factor at play here that would override the "man that's ugly" reaction. But not for $65 with limited collector's site availability.

Yeah.... this is something even HW scalpers will not want, BUUUUUT............ enough of them will snap all of these "limited run" Bee up all the same. It's what they do!

I understand the designer don't want to break up the car's diecast shell as much as possible, and that's why it looks this way in bot mode. I don't hate it (the head sculpt is KO level bad though)... if it's mass retail & like $10~15 CAD then it could even be my first TFxHW, just so I can look at it whenever I needed a good laugh.
