*Start Bubbly Basin - think I have a handle on it. Get punched by the combination of the size of the area, an "I miss my Mudkip" journal entry (followed by IMMEDIATELY finding a Mudkip after that) and then realizing where I am when I find a specific locale...*

Yeah I need to take a break for a moment, Jesus Pokopia let up a little.

I'm honestly finding it pretty soothing with the music and swimming. Though, yeah, this area is HUGE!

Small tip, there's a new plush you can find of Starmie that will take you to a new dream island that's mostly underwater. If you're lucky or you try often enough, you can find Phione there.

In bad news, Pokemon Bank for the 3DS will be fully discontinued by February 26 2027. You won't be able to transfer anything, even if you have it downloaded. So, if you have any Pokemon you care about still in your 3DS or any past games from the DS or GBA, you better move them quick.

In good news, they announced that Fire Red and Leaf Green on Switch will be compatible with Pokemon Home starting sometime in October. It's about time! And if you somehow manage to complete the Pokedex, you can even earn yourself a Celebi!

In even better news, they're also updating Pokemon Home (supposedly around the same time?) in order to add additional slots for 3000 more Pokemon! For a total of 9000 Pokemon! More space is appreciated!

And in best news, there's a new PokeToons short up on Youtube!

WHile it 100 percent sucks they are shutting down Bank.

If you still have "Favorites" or "loved" pokemon on the DS/3DS... there is really no one to blame but yourself.

I was going to make a ribbon master Pokémon- one that gets the ribbons from all the previous games from each generation, but I got stuck in Emerald and never got back to it. This also locks out Pokémon from Colliseum making the jump as well, as unlike the mainline games, that may never get ported to Switch.

I honestly didn't realize it was even still up now! I mean...how long has it been since Sun/Moon?

I usually prefer to post in-box and out-of-box pictures at the same time, but I get the feeling this is going to take a while. So, here's the in box pic.

In true Pokemon fashion, I got a Premier Ball for making a purchase.

All built and looking pretty. I'm not sure what the sign post is meant for, but I will say, you may have to look carefully for the sticker sheet. I wasn't able to find it and had to scrounge through the box.

I mostly got it for the Umbreon.

I was really hoping for sets with smaller versions of the Pokemon. The forced inclusion of the smart bricks honestly looks really ugly to me in most cases.

So far, the only set to include actual Pokémon minifigures is this one, and it's not a casual buy...

Every couple years, Lego tries to push the interactive thing. Lego Mario almost works as advertised, and would seem to have been a success based on longevity, but Vidiyo and Hidden Side kind of died ignoble deaths, and Dimensions sorta fizzled out (though i think that was more of a corporate deal?). I'm afraid Smart Bricks is not going to be the success they are pushing for, even with Star Wars and Pokemon to prop the concept.

Sad thing is, I think sets with Pokémon minifigures would be wildly popular, with constructable Legendaries and Mythicals, and a Collectable Minifigure-style option would fit the nature of the games nicely. But saddling the license to the Smart Brick system is likely to hurt the potential of it all.

Just pretend they're adapting Pokemon Quest! Then they don't look so off!

Arceus help us all if Lego starts randomly doing "chase Shiny" variants of these sets.

They already do variant colors with some Creator sets. Wouldn't surprise me if they get some shinies out if the line lasts. IDK about chase variants, though, closest to that Lego does would be blind packing them into a CMF series (and those have codes that can be scanned to verify what's inside).

The one I got and the ones I've seen are smart brick compatible...which probably part of what makes them more expensive. But the smart bricks aren't included and they have a cover block so it looks fine without the brick. I didn't buy a smart brick with mine just because I couldn't understand what it was it's supposed to do and didn't feel like spending the extra money when I was already spending $80 on the set.

....imagine if they did blind packed minifig Pokemon bags like they do w/ the Minifigs. They would sell SO fast.
