G.I. Joe thread - 09/13/2024: Pulsecon - Dreadnoks, Dogs and Cereal

Heads up for Walmart, I guess:
Apparently, Walmart is doing a big feature station this fall for assorted lines. One side is all Hasbro collector lines. The shocking thing is that these displays even sport actual PRODUCT DISPLAYS akin to what you might see at Barnes and Noble or in Target Lego aisles. I'm assuming these are coming pre-assembled because this store I saw it hasn't carried GI Joe in almost 4 years, but the display had retro figures this store has never had.
For GI Joe product being offered, this display (assuming most are similar) had a 5 foot high block with some 4 pegs for Crystal Ball, 3 pegs for the 60th Firefighter, 1 peg for Retro Cobra Trooper, one peg for Deluxe Law and Order, one "peg" for the Night Force 2 pack (I saw the same weirdness at Target where they assigned a peg for the Voyager AotP figures), and a shelf space for the Stinger, priced at $75. Again, this store has not carried GI Joe since the Snake Eyes film was cleared out.
Also seen on the display are pretty much all the other Walmart con items like the Transformers Cybertron capsule and Star Wars figures.
Hopefully, if these displays are fairly common, figures like Crystal Ball should be fairly available. Keep in mind this is Walmart, so some stores might have this display up through the holidays, others will scrap it in a week with the figures jammed into the regular aisle or "seasonal" slots.

Super7 has their Python Patrol Cobra Commander up for order. I snagged one. Still more than a little irritated at not being able to get a Python Patrol BAT.
Hopefully, Super7 does a rerun of it, I’ve NEVER had an issue getting a Target exclusive before, so it burns me that I do with something like Python Patrol.

Is there a ReAction+ Python BAT, or are you talking about the 5-PoA one?
There IS a Reaction+ Python BAT, supposedly a Target exclusive last spring. Not that I ever saw one, nor was it available online (or if it was, not for very long).
I’m taking solace in that, hopefully, this is representative of strong demand which means this little line will keep going for a bit. “Cartoon style” o-ring Joes are tickling me JUST right, especially if they continue into deeper cuts like the Movie characters.
I don't usually buy "regular" (i.e., Non-TF) action figures, but I usually do so when they're cool mecha ninjas/Samurai.

Unfortunately, it also means too many fans are willing to pay Super7's ridiculous prices.
In fairness, I think Super7 is doing more to justify the price now that we’re getting “retro o-ring style” than with their prior Kenner style figures. The deeper cuts, the cartoon orientation, the increased articulation, all come together for me. Granted, the fact we’re getting these figures without a price increase DEFINITELY speaks to how overpriced Super7’s prior efforts were.
