Yeah no. There were signs before she went full on TERF that she was a racist bitch.

Ironbite-seriously Cho Chang?

A lot of those readers were too young to pick up on that sort of stuff. As such, I'm not going to lambaste those sorts of fans if they've caught on in the years since.

Really should've taken it as a bigger red flag when the first actual fight the kids have in Book 1 is against a giant hideous creature forcing its way into the girls' bathroom.

It's a couple of years old, but it's definitely germane to the conversation.

‘Hellraiser’ writer Clive Barker on the publishing industry’s homophobia and J.K. Rowling

“I feel very protective of people who are on the edge of our culture as gay people still are,” Barker continued. “And certainly transgender people are on the edge of our culture. And here you have one of the most successful people in the frigging world – Ms Rowling. Going after a very emotionally vulnerable portion of our culture. It just seems unnecessary and unfair.”

It's wild how much mileage they're still getting out of that "we're doing it to protect women" bullshit.

Florida-style toilet bans are here.

Starmer again demonstrating how he’s the most socially conservative British prime minister since Thatcher.

Horrified how the Labour Party has gone from being the party that significantly expanded rights of LGBTQ people under Blair’s prime ministership, to now being more anti-LGBTQ than the previous few Tory governments.

From a skim, it looks like the tl;dr of this new trans kids HHS "study" is:

  • WPATH Standards of Care is woke propaganda
  • Don't let trans kids get medical treatment
  • We should make trans kids get conversion therapy instead

Pride events in the UK are banning political parties from attending, which is a good show of solidarity towards trans people, given there’s no parties left in this country which aren’t transphobic.
Just for a bit of outside perspective, I quickly perused the Count Binface Party platform from 2024. It is silent on anything to do with gender or sexuality, though it does have this to say about bathrooms:

The hand dryer in the gents’ urinals at the Crown & Treaty, Uxbridge to be moved to a more sensible position.

Granted that Count Binface does a bit better running for Mayor of London than as a national party, but it is a point of information. So hopefully he doesn't get shut out of putting in an appearance, because to be honest, if an LLC can run candidates for elections then what even is a "comedy campaign" over there?
